The Whiskeytown Sailing Club will host its 61st Annual Whiskeytown Memorial Weekend Regatta on May 23-24 at Whiskeytown Lake.
The regatta is a two-day sailboat race that attracts sailors from California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, the club said in a community announcement.
Each year, more than 40 sailors enter their boats in the competition. Some have been participating in the race for generations, the club reported.

The race will begin at the Brandy Creek Marina at 11 a.m. May 23. Following the race, the club will host a catered regatta dinner at 6 p.m. Reservations are required in advance for the dinner.
The event will conclude with an awards ceremony after the final race on May 24.
The Whiskeytown Sailing Club is accepting new members. To participate in the race or for more information, go to whiskeytownsailing.org.
