Delvin Morris (b. Dec. 18, 2004) is a transfer offensive lineman from Akron who is majoring in sociology. I am projecting him to replace the drafted Sam Hecht as our starting center this season.
Morris played in 2023 against Northern Illinois as he retained his redshirt. He then appeared in 12 games with seven starts in 2024, seeing time on 560 offensive snaps.
Morris lined up primarily at left guard that season (500 snaps), surrendering only one sack among his 350 pass-blocking snaps. He also served on the field goal/extra point protection unit, as well as the kickoff return team.
Last year, Morris appeared in all 12 games for the Zips with four starts as he saw time on 472 offensive snaps.
He spent a majority of his time at both center (214 snaps) and left tackle (213 snaps), did not allow a sack among his 280 pass-blocking snaps, and again served as a member of the field goal/extra point protection team.
Morris prepped at Caldwell (Texas) High School, where he earned first-team all-district honors as a junior and senior. His brother, Devin, played football at Texas A&M.
A two-star recruit, Morris walked on at Akron after receiving no scholarship offers out of high school. K-State was able to quietly nab him in the transfer portal despite competing interest from Kentucky, NC State and UCF.
