After visiting Iowa City on Oct. 25 and taking in Hawkeye football's win over Minnesota, prized Iowa women's basketball recruit and 2026 five-star shooting guard, Jenica Lewis, has revealed the date and time of her commitment announcement.
Lewis announced on Tuesday night that she is choosing between Iowa, Notre Dame, Oregon and TCU. The 5-foot-10 guard will make her college commitment official on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. CT.
Rivals ranks Lewis as the nation's No. 17 player and the No. 5 combo guard in 2026, while ESPN rates Lewis as the country's No. 24 player overall.
The Johnston, Iowa, native has long been one of the Hawkeyes' most sought-after prospects in the 2026 class. Lewis is the nation's No. 22 overall recruit, the No. 4 shooting guard, and the No. 1 prospect in the state of Iowa, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.
Lewis stars for Johnston High School, where she was honored as the 2024-25 Iowa MaxPreps High School Girls Basketball Player of the Year after averaging 18 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game on 47% shooting from the field, 35% from 3-point range, and 88% from the free-throw line.
If Iowa can land Lewis, it would add a second "jewel" to a historic 2026 recruiting class that already has secured the pledge of five-star McKenna Woliczko and is among the finalists for five-star forward Addison Bjorn.
