5 Lumberjacks win brackets at Orno Invitational

Jan. 25—ORONO — Out of the six Bemidji High School boys wrestlers who placed in their individual brackets on Saturday at the Orono Invitational, five of them won brackets.

The Lumberjacks took third place as a team with 343.5 points, trailing only New Prague (515) and Maple Grove (357).

Ozzie Hanks took first place at 107 pounds, going 4-0. Owen Bieber also went unbeaten in three matches at 114 pounds.

Regular BHS victors Gabe Morin and Nick Strand rolled at 133 and 139 pounds, respectively. Morin went 3-0 with a bye, including two wins by technical fall. Strand went 4-0 with a pair of pins and a win by technical fall. Nehemiah Schwinghammer rounded out the first-place finishers at 285 pounds, going 3-0.

Jeremy Linn was the only other BHS wrestler to place, taking fourth at 152 pounds.
