Entering Tuesday, the San Francisco 49ers only had eight players that left for other teams in free agency since the start of the new league year, but that list is growing by one.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, running back Brian Robinson Jr. is expected to sign with the Atlanta Falcons.

Robinson, 27, played at Alabama from 2017-21 before the Washington Commanders took him in the third round (No. 98 overall) of the 2022 NFL draft. After three years in Washington, the Commanders traded him to the 49ers last August.

In his lone season in San Francisco, he rushed for 400 yards and two touchdowns on 4.3 yards per attempt and caught eight passes for 25 yards. He was mostly an insurance policy for Christian McCaffrey, who was surprisingly healthy the whole year.

Now, he'll be Bijan Robinson's backup in Atlanta.
