The San Francisco 49ers entered the offseason with offensive linemen Ben Bartch, Spencer Burford and Matt Hennessy all hitting unrestricted free agency, and one of them has already found a new home.

On Thursday, ESPN's Todd Archer reported that Hennessy has agreed to a deal with the Dallas Cowboys.

Hennessy, 28, played at Temple from 2016-19, earning All-AAC and All-American honors in his final year before the Atlanta Falcons took him in the third round (No. 78 overall) of the 2020 NFL draft.

After four seasons in Atlanta, Hennessy joined the Philadelphia Eagles for an offseason, returned to the Falcons for most of the 2024 season and eventually signed a two-year deal with the 49ers in December 2024.

In his career, he's appeared in 64 games and started 24, but with San Francisco, he played in 19 and started two for an injured Jake Brendel. San Francisco doesn't have a true backup center right now, but the newly-signed Brett Toth does have some experience at the position and could play there if needed.
