Newcastle United defender Dan Burn says the players are "going to give it a good push" for a European spot in the final three games of the season.

The Magpies are six points off seventh place in the table, which would guarantee Conference League football, with fixtures against Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Fulham still to come.

The 33-year-old spoke to Final Score presenter Jason Mohammad, and former Premier League players Nedum Onuoha and Stephen Warnock, after the Magpies' 3-1 win over Brighton on Saturday.

"There are three games left now and we know anything can happen," Burn said. "We know we are well outside of the European places, but we are going to give it a good push.

"We have found this season tough mentally. The amount of games you have to play means you don't get much time to train, and I've always said we are a team that likes to be out on the training pitch."
