The Alabama Crimson Tide were swept by the Arkansas Razorbacks in Tuscaloosa this past weekend.
The Razorbacks' lineup was able to get the best of the Alabama pitching staff throughout all three matchups this past weekend. The Tide allowed a head-turning 25 runs throughout all three games of this past weekend’s series, as Alabama will undoubtedly need to bounce back moving forward.
Here are three takeaways from Arkansas’ sweep over Alabama this past weekend.
Fay has been excellent on the mound throughout the entirety of SEC play this season. The star flame thrower recorded six innings pitched while surrendering just one earned run on four hits, as Fay was excellent, despite Alabama losing the game by a score of 7-5.
Fay continues to play a critical role for the Tide this year, as the talented pitcher was one of the lone bright spots from Alabama’s three-game set against Arkansas this past weekend.
Hines continues to emerge as one of the hottest hitters in the Crimson Tide lineup during April. The star freshman went 3-for-5 during Alabama’s 7-5 loss in the opening game of the series, as Hines opened the game with a towering home run in the first inning.
The Alabama star was excellent despite the string of losses, as Hines will look to stay red hot throughout the remainder of SEC play this season.
Lebron continues to shine on a nightly basis for the Tide this year. The star shortstop went 2-for-3 with two walks during Sunday’s 3-2 loss, including a massive RBI double in the third inning that gave Alabama a 2-0 lead.
Lebron has cemented himself as a top player in all of college baseball with his efforts this season, as the shortstop was excellent once again against Arkansas.
Alabama will be on the road to face UAB on Tuesday evening, as the Tide will look to bounce back following a string of disappointing performances against Arkansas this past weekend.
