The Texas Longhorns defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 72-65.

Alabama was red hot on the offensive end of the floor throughout all four quarters against Texas. The Tide were unable to stop the Longhorns defensively, as star Texas forward Madison Booker recorded 21 points in the road victory over Alabama.

The Tide will officially end the 2025-26 campaign with a record of 21-9, as the team will now turn their full attention towards the SEC Tournament later this month.

Here are three takeaways from Alabama’s loss to the Texas Longhorns.

Timmons was nothing short of elite against the Longhorns on Saturday afternoon. The star guard recorded a team-high 24 points on 6-of-11 shooting in the loss, including an efficient 2-of-4 from behind the arc as well.

Timmons played a massive role throughout 30 total minutes of play, as the talented senior had an excellent showing in the loss to the Longhorns.

Essence Cody records 16 points in 31 minutes

Cody played a pivotal role on both ends of the floor against the Longhorns this weekend. The talented forward recorded 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting during the Tide’s final regular season matchup, as Cody was no match for the Longhorns’ defense throughout the second half of play.

The star playmaker was a major reason behind the matchup remaining close, as Cody had one of her best performances of the season against the Longhorns in Tuscaloosa.

Ta’Mia Scott struggles offensively, records 3 points

Scott was on an offensive tear prior to the Tide’s matchup with Texas. Scott shot just 1-of-4 from the field in the loss to the Longhorns, as the talented guard recorded just three points in 28 minutes of play.

The senior recorded six rebounds despite the shooting struggles, as Scott continues to play a key role for the Tide in a multitude of ways.

Alabama will officially end the regular season with an overall record of 21-9, in addition to a 7-9 record throughout SEC play.
