The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Hofstra Pride in the first round of the NCAA Tournament by a final score of 90-70.

Alabama was red hot on the offensive end of the floor in the second half of play, as the Tide recorded an impressive 12 three-pointers. Labaron Philon Jr. recorded an impressive 29 points in the win, as the star point guard continues to thrive for the Tide on a nightly basis.

Labaron Philon Jr. stays red hot, records 29 points​

Philon has been widely regarded as a top guard in all of college basketball this season. The star sophomore recorded 29 total points on 10-of-18 shooting against Hofstra, as Philon was electrifying against the Pride on Friday afternoon.

The star guard will undoubtedly remain as Alabama’s top scoring option in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, as Philon was excellent against the Pride in the first round.

Aiden Sherrell dominates the glass, records 15 rebounds​


Sherrell has played a massive role on both ends of the floor this season. The star forward recorded 15 total rebounds against Hofstra, as Sherrell played a massive role in the Tide’s victory over the Pride on Friday afternoon. Sherrell could dominate once again in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, as the talented playmaker continues to dominate the glass in March.

Sherrell was credited with 15 points on 4-of-12 shooting as well, as the talented forward will undoubtedly continue to shine in the second round against Texas Tech.

Taylor Bol Bowen shines offensively, records 15 points off the bench​


Bol Bowen has played a crucial role off the bench for Alabama throughout the entire 2025-26 season. Bol Bowen recorded 15 points against the Pride in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, as the talented forward has been electric throughout the postseason thus far.

Bol Bowen is a prime candidate to thrive yet again against the Red Raiders, as Alabama will look to stay red hot against Texas Tech.

Alabama will face Texas Tech in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, as the Tide will look to continue their run through March Madness.
