The Auburn Tigers remain in the hunt for one of the top EDGE rushers from the 2028 recruiting cycle, after he cut his prospective programs list to six.
Hayes Fawcett of Rivals reports that 2028 EDGE Jalanie George is shifting his focus to six programs, including Auburn. The Tigers join Ohio State, Washington, Miami, Oklahoma, and Florida in the pursuit of the Goodyear, Arizona native for the remainder of his recruitment.
George is on campus this weekend for a visit during "Big Cat Weekend" and is considered the highest-rated visitor from the cycle, according to Jeffrey Lee of Rivals, with four-star offensive tackle Samuel Bailey, tight end Xavier Brinson, and EDGE Brydon Feister also representing the 2028 class at Big Cat Weekend.
A successful weekend on the Plains could push Auburn to the top of George's recruitment, as Rivals currently gives Auburn a 15% chance to land him, which is the second-highest odds behind Ole Miss, a program that failed to make George's final schools list. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound EDGE rusher from Desert Edge High School is the No. 1 EDGE from the 2028 class according to Rivals' Industry Ranking, and the No. 4 overall player from the cycle.
