The 2026 PGA Tour season continues on Thursday, June 18, with the 126th edition of the U.S. Open, which will be the third major tournament of the year. It will mark the sixth time that the U.S. Open is making its way to the grueling Shinnecock Hills Golf Course in Southampton, New York.
This year, there is a $1 million prize pool increase, with the total pool moving to $22.5 million and the winner’s share increasing to $4.5 million.
Among the golfers taking part in the 2026 U.S. Open are World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, who is aiming to win his second major of the season.

Former U.S. Open champions Matt Fitzpatrick and Brooks Koepka are also in the tournament field. The last time the U.S. Open was at Shinnecock in 2018, Koepka won the title, so he will be looking to recapture the magic.

Thursday’s first round will air live from 6:30 a.m. ET to 5:00 p.m. ET on the USA Network, before the action shifts to NBC Sports Network from 5:00 p.m. ET to 8:00 p.m. ET. The entire opening round will air live on Peacock.
