Tennessee will play four games in September to kick off Josh Heupel's sixth season as head coach. The Vols will play three home games at Neyland Stadium, while having one road contest in the opening month.

Tennessee will kick off its campaign on Sept. 5 versus Furman. Week 2 will feature Georgia Tech hosting the Vols at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on Sept. 12.

Kennesaw State and head coach Jerry Mack will face Tennessee at Neyland Stadium on Sept. 19. Mack served as the Vols' running backs coach from 2021-23 under Heupel.

Tennessee will conclude September with a matchup against Texas at Neyland Stadium. The contest is slated for noon EDT.

Ahead of the 2026 season, ESPN's College Football Power Index was released. ESPN FPI projects the Vols to have a 7.3-4.7 record.

ESPN's Matchup Predictor also projected win percentage chances for each Tennessee game this season. The Vols are projected to finish September with a 3-1 record.

Texas has a 75.5% chance to win at Tennessee in Week 4.
