Here is a list of all the #14 picks (last pick of the lottery) since 2020:

  • 2026: Egor Demin, SG, Washington Wizards
  • 2025: Carter Bryant, PF, San Antonio Spurs
  • 2024: Carlton Carrington, SG, Portland Trail Blazers
  • 2023: Jordan Hawkins, SG, New Orleans Pelicans
  • 2022: Ousmane Dieng, SF, Oklahoma City Thunder (Drafted by NYK, traded)
  • 2021: Moses Moody, SG, Golden State Warriors
  • 2020: Aaron Nesmith, SF, Boston Celtics
Very few of those guys can match Grayson Allen today, even with the injury history taken into account.

EDIT: Should also note that Mark Williams was the #15 pick in 2022.
You want someone to play in the playoffs next year. You want Grayson not the 15 pick. It takes a few years for these kids. Carter Bryant might need 5

Would anyone here trade Fleming for Miles Bridges? I don't think I would. But maybe I am being unrealistic.

Green for Miles Bridges? I just really like Green's athleticism. We need that, and he is so young. Honestly. The best choice in the near future might be to move Book for a bunch of assets. (wince, duck).
No

That is crazy. There are actually very few players in the league I would trade Rasheer for.

It is also crazy you don't realize Green is much more valuable than Miles Bridges. Never would we do that.

I don't want to root for a guy like Miles Bridges.

I'd trade Green just to get out of his contract but not for Bridges, he's a scumbag.

Hartenstein will stay at OKC on 3-year, $75M deal.

That's less than Joe, 1 pick vs 2. I don't see Grayson netting multiple 1sts.

Just a hunch. He's a starter quality player who isn't overpaid and has been part of winning teams since he's been in the league. I think a pick in the teens isn't far fetched.

I mean it's no different than you thinking adding KD would make us a contender. Maybe I'm wrong but it's my opinion and I'll own it. Until he's moved though we can't say for certain.
The picks sent for Joe were second rounders.

No pressure on Aday Mara. OKC can afford to take the patient approach.

And they have F/C Thomas Sorber who didn't even play last season. I liked him a lot pre-draft.

And people want to fret over Williams making $13m a year? I'd take Mark Williams any day over Hartenstein.

Athletically yes and he is much cheaper. The Suns couldn't afford to pay Hartenstein's new salary.

Hartenstein's contract may have help set the market.

I read it wrong then. I thought he was dealt for 2 1st rounders.
That’s why I was confused you thought the Joe deal meant Allen would net a late lotto pick.

Knowing that a similar player, who’s younger, much cheaper, healthier and more athletic only netted two second rounders, do you still believe Allen would get us a late lotto pick?

I do. There's been so much pick movement that I could see a playoff team trading a pick that is likely to be in the teens for him. Add in Grayson's potentially expiring deal, player option, he has some value in a few ways.

That is an interesting way around the cap.

“Anything more we can do for you within the rules of the cap?”

“Yeah, sign my brothers so I can tell them to quit asking me for money.”

The Pelicans are shopping Jordan Poole’s $34 million expiring contract in trade talks.

New Orleans is targeting a win-now piece to bring aboard for new head coach Jamahl Mosley.
