Been saying for two years Alek Thomas ain't it...he should have been traded before Jake McCarthy. Now we get to see what Waldy can do against ML pitching. I'm really hoping he's not another AAAA prospect.

Think I’m safe in saying I’ve been the loudest Thomas detractor over the last several years… He had a nice run during our World Series season, and then completely fell apart since.
I’ve said hundreds of times, he simply doesn’t belong on a major league roster…

It's hard to trade someone if no one wants him. Not having any options certainly was a deterrent. But a career OPS of .634 isn't going to keep you in the majors.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have already received trade interest in CF Alek Thomas, who was DFA’d earlier today, Mike Hazen, president of baseball operations said.

As of this morning still ongoing discussions about trading Alek Thomas with some interest. I would put the odds at 50-50 on a trade. IF and that is IF they are able to move him most likely a player coming back not cash considerations. If they can not he would go on waivers

Yeah it’s feeling like this team needs to be stripped down to the studs(pun intended) and rebuilt. Since the World Series it’s been mostly .500 baseball.
