on one hand, Im wasn't a fan of Beck

on the other, I am the same guy who predicted in Jan or so that Garret Nussmeier would sneak into round 1

so we all have that going for us.
Nussmeir is in a Really good position though and I thought the same there must be a Really bad medical issue we arent being told about Chiefs got a Steal though Imho

I was hoping for Nussmeir or Allar if the Cards didn’t get Simpson. For some reason I think Beck is going to be Chad Pennington 2.0. That’s just the comparison I have in my head. I hope I’m wrong and I want to see him start to find out.

Chad Pennington wasn't as bad as you seem to remember him. If Beck has half as good a career as Pennington he would be better than I expected.

Here is good question for a bar bet...

"What QB led the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins to their most recent AFC Division Titles?"

And: Chad Pennington. Jets 2002 and Dolphins 2008

That’s the thing, I have some hope about Beck because I think he is Pennington 2.0. And that level of game manger type play could be fantastic under MLF. But it’s still a ceiling of really good game manger.

Yeah, it's a pretty good comparison. If anyone hopes he is going to be Joe Burrow like, or someone else at that level, I think they haven't really seen him play much.

Yeah Pennington was a Guy for sure.

I’d be surprised if Beck starts 15 games in his NFL career.

Nah. Just see what he has. Who knows. Maybe the kid pans out. He is an accurate passer and he is big and thick. If not, move on to the next prospect. We need to keep doing this until we find our QBOF.
Yeah I haven’t seen anyone acting like he is the savior of the franchise. But we know Brissett and Minchew aren’t so why not just run him out there.

I think Love was a Bidwill pick so you are probably correct. And I’m not mad they took him at all but if they took him over Bailey, I think I would be kinda pissed.
I think we hired an offensive coach and gave him not only the best offensive player in the draft, but the best overall...

So if they are all wasted picks because he's sucks at the draft why cry about any of his picks at this point?
Because it is a message board about the Cardinals. Did people not discuss Kyler or QB play because they didn't think he was good? Did people not critique Kliff even though they thought he wasn't any good? Not sure it is "crying" to want more from one of the worst franchises in pro sports.

I will say I liked him on the Gruden QB camp thing, doesn’t mean he will be a good QB but he seemed pretty open and personable unlike Diego Pavia.
Best part of that video...
Gruden said, "I'm going to beat the center."
Center chips him a little too much.
Gruden said, "Hey. I said I'm going to be the center."

Here we go with the irrational optimism for beck. This train is never late.
Of course there is some optimism.

You do realize that we have a completely new coach, offense, oline, and new weapons.

Hopefully MLF can help the kid unlike the coaches before.

No one is saying that Beck is the next coming but why try to rain on the parade when no one knows anything?

I personally would have gone oline or dline with the 3rd round pick. Then get a QB in the next draft which on paper is better. Reading the so called experts on this pick is a mixed bag. Some think it is good. Others pan it. Nobody really knows. We are not paid to make these decisions. Hope this works out.

I'm totally fine with the Beck pick in the 3rd round. I felt there was no way he would last until the Cards pick in the 4th round. I beleive Beck fits MLFs offense really well. The Cardinals needed to take a shot at a young QB in this draft who they could start to develop. Will Beck ever develop into anything more than a Backup QB? The odds are stacked against him, but you have to take some shots at the position.

Well Ron Wolfe used to say, draft a QB in every draft. Hopefully he develops into at least a solid backup, if not more.
