So we sent them Naylor and Geno for 4 pitchers and a 1B. You hope the quantity is good.

Man, I hope so. That is the only way it makes sense. That is a really poor return for Geno. It's not better than a late first in a deep draft. It's only reasonable if they know he is resigning here.
Yeah, let's disregard the 4 TJ surgeries and the other pitcher's injuries. We were 4th in MLB in runs produced, and all of our star relievers and our Ace are out for the season. Torey's job is on the line as it should be, but he did not create this mess. But, I don't think he will survive this, and we will see how the next-up guy does. The fact that there are so many highly-coveted D-Backs players on the market is an indication of how this team is playing far beneath its potential. That’s coaching and managing. This fire sale is an indictment on Torey’s managing prowess
This season isn’t on Torey but it’s the perfect season result to get rid of him. We’ll see if they pull the trigger.Yeah, let's disregard the 4 TJ surgeries and the other pitcher's injuries. I like Torey, but I think he's gone. This season isn’t on Torey but it’s the perfect season result to get rid of him. We’ll see if they pull the trigger.
Aside from Lawlar being hurt, he ain't it...and I think the Dbacks know it already (they'll still give him one more look though). They are gonna give Blaze more play at 3rd, while Lawlar is hurt, to see if he fielding has improved (it already looks like it has). Now we need to see Lawlar and Locklear as everyday starters for the rest of the season to give them some ABs.
Seattle is a dumpster fire of a city so I agree with you completely. I never liked the Mariners as a team. Ken Griffey Jr. - he was great. At least Hazen made a significant move at the trading deadline. We'll see if Gallen and Kelly are gone today too.It really is making me angry that the Dbacks seem to be trying hard to help Seattle out. I hate that team!
I think the Dbacks did fine for a rental. MLB ready player in a position of need, two good pitching prospectsHard to see how Torey survives this season… though this year is far more about the historical number of injuries, this is life as a MLB Manager, where your survival is less about fairness, and more about timing and optics.
The return for Geno, who will be 35 next July, seems about right to me.
And for the record, the Dbacks are going nowhere if Blaze, and/or Tawa, and/or Lawler are everyday players…unless of course Lawler suddenly learns how to hit a major league curve ball - which isn’t likely at this point in his career.
