He’s got a largely guaranteed contract. If Gaines is still here, why would Melton be worried about his roster spot.
He's not worried about a roster spot (although he would be if he's quitting). It all counts towards what he gets paid after next year.
Dude wants to ball out and hear his bag. He doesn't care about anything but that. Willing or losing of mostly beyond his concept. He wants to do his job and get paid.

If I remember correctly, someone posted JG insisted on bringing in his own conditioning guys. I wonder if there is an issue there either with their mix with Buddy's strength program or just in general. Either way, there is something off with all of these injuries.

Buddy has not been Strength and Conditioning coach for a few years. His responsibility is rehabilitation after injury (and Michael’s personal trainer).
It my understanding that a lot of the players work with him in the off season for strength. Either way, it wasn't this bad prior to JG conditioning team coming in.

Agreed. They must be doing something wrong behind the scenes. I don’t believe all injuries are bad luck.

Darius Robinson has been bad all season and they’re running him out there.
Based on him not being good. They didn't bench him midway, he just got snaps sporadically.
We had little choice to play Drob with several injuries, but he's also had plenty of games where he only got 30-40% of snaps.
