After the Myers trade, the average size of the nine defensemen on the Stars roster is about 6’4”, 211 lbs.

That’s a Big Boy Blue Line.

this has been a weakness of theirs in the past. they managed to get past some very good teams in the playoffs, Vegas, Winnipeg, and Colorado, but they always wear down in the end because of their defense. it's amazing that they beat Colorado last season without Heiskanen. that's hard to believe it actually happened. head to head heiskanen has more than held his own vs. Makar.

The trade deadline isn't until tomorrow but today feels mighty important on the Robert Thomas trade watch. Because as a reminder, as per his full no-trade clause, any deal needs his blessing. As we've seen with other players with those clauses this past week, a player needs time sometimes to digest the decision at hand. That's not to say it couldn't go to tomorrow, but I would imagine leaving some wiggle room time-wise for that decision would be part of things here.

Bunting actually opened the scoring in Dallas in their last match. it isn't kadri or O'reily, but the stars were always looking for an expiring contract to make up for Seguin's absence. the good thing is multiple guys in house are already playing really well in Seguin's absence. hopefully rantanen comes back soon. sad that he won't be there tomorrow vs. Colorado.
