I'm rooting for Diego and have followed his college career as I have a granddaughter who goes to Vanderbilt. His height might push him to Canada, but he is also a VG (and tough) runner.

here is the thing about taking a 2nd round QB like Ty Simpson (if he is there), Nussmeier, etc

Im not sure the team would truly know what they had by the end of the 2026 season.

I think the odds of a draft pick grabbing the job in the preseason are low -- and lets say he plays over the last 8 games. I think performance will be a mixed bag. We will have the 100 page "is X a franchise QB?"

The Cards are then staring at being in a position to take a far better prospect in the 2027 draft after burning a 2nd round pick the year prior.

at that point, the team has 2 young QBs -- both of whom need reps, practice time and starts.

• Oscar Delp, Georgia
•Justin Joly, NC State
Finally through all of the TEs. These are two players that really stuck out. Delp seems like a player that has a lot of potential left to uncover. Joly is a movable F tight end that will contribute in 12 personnel. Strong hands.

Downs isn’t as good as Ed Reed. He was about the best ever. I likened him to Eric Berry.
I think if Gannon was retained, Downs would’ve been the Cards pick. He still might be and probably worth it in this draft.

: NDSU QB Cole Payton is generating early buzz in the scouting community and could potentially be the second QB selected in this year’s draft, according to
@JasonLaCanfora

“Cole Payton is creating a strong buzz in the scouting community with multiple trusted personnel executives assuring me they have a high second-round grade on Payton and believe he is firmly the second-best talent at the quarterback position in this draft.”

Should the Arizona Cardinals draft Arizona State OT Max Iheanachor with the 34th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft?

@MelKiperESPN
has WR Denzel Boston as the No. 18 prospect on his Big Board.

"Boston has developed into a nuanced route runner who has Velco-esque hands, allowing him to go high or low to haul in difficult receptions."

He had 11 receiving TDs last season, averaging 14.2 YPC.

I actually noticed him when looking at Trey Lance's brother Bryce on youtube. Bryce is a WR and old, 24 I think, but scouts like him too. Payton is big and most of his highlights are runs, but he's a lefty and seems to have a good arm but seems like he'd be pretty raw they don't exactly have a pass heavy offense. He's also the definition of a 1 year wonder this was his 5th year and first year as a starter and threw only 225 passes all year. 22 so right age.

Pass rush WIN% on true pass sets:
38.6% - David Bailey
36.6% - Akheem Mesidor
35.1% - R Mason Thomas
30.3% - Rueben Bain Jr.
28.0% - Romello Height
27.1% - Arvell Reese
I mean...the answer to this draft test is pretty clear. Can't wait for Monti to mess it up.

Caleb Downs in his only season at Alabama was the 1st true freshman to lead the school in total tackles since 1970 and the only freshman to lead a Nick Saban defense in total tackles.

He was just 18 years old. A special player and a prolific tackler from the get-go. #NFLDraft

Florida DT Caleb Banks vs. LSU in 2024 is top-10 overall tape. Go watch it. 6'6"/330 with 35" arms. Showed a lot of burst and chase down in that game.

Related: Gators DL is one of the biggest ever. Banks is often the 2nd or 3rd biggest DL on the field, and he is a monster.
