Pretty sure Egbuka was there too. Not bad having 6 first round draft picks in your WR room. Julian Fleming was considered the best of all of them coming out of high school. He's just never panned out and is transferring to Penn State next year.
Baloney. Great QBs elevate. Kyler ain't great and never was going to be great. Have circumstances kept him from being a good, solid QB that will never quite get a team where they want to go? Eh, maybe. I still don't think he would have ever been what we were looking for or needed, but maybe he'd have been better. But he's also given himself no chance, keeping daddy as his QB coach and refusing to even try to diversify and get better on his own.
I’ve thought this for a while, but we gotta stop believing it’s that black & white. This is not even a defense of Kyler when it’s more so a general statement of all QBs.

You’re missing another ingredient. They also had great players on those teams as well.

If you’re not outright stomping on Kyler’s grave then you’re defending Kyler.
Look at all the teams currently in the playoffs & research how many of those QBs were drafted in the top 5 by that same franchise.
Ideally the Cards could trade from #2 back to #3, pick up an extra #1, and still get MHJ... but if the draft order stays as-is & the Patriots trade up from #3 to #1, the Cards could be stuck either taking Harrison at #2 or trading down below the Bears & missing out on him.
I disagree that the Chargers gave Herbert a "bad supporting cast". They actually did everything possible to give him a complete offense. Their skill players are definitely above average as a while. The offensive line was rated in the top 10 by PFF going into this season.
The expectations on high draft pick QB rookies are insane. Their is no more difficult position in all of sports.

It's funny how these two teams are similar. Right now because of injuries the WR room is a mess. Still probably a bit better than Cards. The Center position derailed the whole OL. The best run blocker on the Chargers is Justin Herbert. If you do nothing PFF gives you a 60 rating. All the other Charger OL are graded in the fifties! They have supposedly some good OL, but the starting Center went down, and with no real blocking TEs, this OL has been underwhelming ALL year. At least the Cards have a jump on the Chargers by having a new coach and GM a season earlier. Chargers looking for a total redo because they are so far over the cap. Their two best players this year where the two oldest in Keenan Allen and Khalil Mack. Do you try and extend these two oldies? Mack knows he has limited seasons left, so he hinted he may be amenable to a trade.

I think the offensive personnel are mediocre. Thats why is so frustrating that the performance isn’t much better with Kyler operating it instead of Josh Dobbs.
I really didn’t want to defend Kyler so I added in that statement of it really not being a defense of Kyler. It’ll be labeled as excuses so I wanted to use Herbert as the example. Herbert is a guy I’m pretty sure everyone would obviously take over Kyler, but even there’s so much “elevating” Herbert could do with a bad supporting cast around him.
Eh I'd take all of those teams supporting casts over the Cardinals even at full health.
