It’s 2023. All the top QBs in the NFL like Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, etc, all played in shotgun offenses in college, lol.

While shotgun formation use has increased exponentially in NFL, it depends on where this years QB's get drafted. Teams like LV and DET spilt snaps from shotgun to under center around 50% so these kids may need some time to get back into the habit of being under C. Not every kid is the same, maybe Maye or Penix need less time than Caleb Williams as they are bigger QB's and can see over OL.

I'll concede Herbert is the exception but CIN is in Top 6 in shotgun formation usage so Burrow didn't have to do much adjusting to taking snaps under C in NFL and Mahomes didn't get on the field his rookie year as Reid felt he needed a redshirt year to go from spread offense at TT to his.

I'll admit that I did get locked in on Tua> Burrow/Herbert because the hype was with Tua longer. I thought health permitting he'd be as good or better than they currently are. I was wrong on that. So sometimes guys emerge and just are frankly better.


And it bit me as well with liking Rosen over Josh Allen.

Keep your eye on Will Shipley. He is from our local high school and reminds me of a Christian McAffrey type player (not at that level but very good).

In high school -
He won back back state titles and MVP. Would have most likely won the 3rd but season got wiped out due to covid - he enrolled at Clemson early.
2 state titles in lacrosse
A state title in the 55 meters (track).

He is a true Junior this year.
2022 - Had 1,200 rushing yards, 250 receiving yards (38 catches), and 15 rushing td's.

To admit further bias I probably would have been a top Maye guy if he stayed committed to Bama. Seeing him at Bama in the SEC I might have pushed for him as much as Caleb.
