after tonights game...might need to start calling Darnold "Moses"..
he turned ASU's defense into the red sea...parted them,..and lead his people through

A lot of people say they just don't see it in Darnold. I don't see it in Rosen. I guess that's what's great about opinions!

sam definitely has it... but he does need development. I actually like that he is "struggling" this year...last year everything happened fast but since then he has gotten the full brunt of being USC's QB.... that is a lot of attention and focus for a kid to adjust too..seeing him struggle with it all is not surprising...he should adapt and grow through it.

I am on the fence with rosen too. his pocket skills are good but rumor has it he is not a charmer and may strain the loyalty of his team mates.

between the two I would choose darnold every time.

throw jackson into the discussion and the decision gets harder

I've been pumping up Grier and Ferguson. Finley, NC State, is a tall skinny kid, but is on the real big stage against Notre Dame this week.
I see nothing about Grier that makes me think NFL QB. I watched him again yesterday and he seems like a whiney kid that fades under pressure and just heaves the ball downfield and hopes his WR's make a play.

Barrett: Behind 15 pts. in 4th quarter...passes for 16 straight completions and many of those were threaded through the needle. Very impressive.

Baker Mayfield continuing his assault on Big 12 defenses guiding OKLA to a win over TT last night, 280 yards, 4 TD's, 62% completion.

I think I now know why POISON is a huge critic of Mayfield. Supposedly, the transfer from TT to OU was due to him and his father being disgruntled after Kingsbury went with Mahomes over Mayfield when he returned from injury and going 5-0 before the injury. Read Mayfield's dad is a arrogant piece of work too (LaVar-esque).

Jackson had a good game despite LOU losing to WF.

Rosen left game with finger injury, no word on severity.

Lamar Jackson can do similar things Watson is doing right now. We HAVE to draft him.

The difference IMO is there's nothing really magical on how LJ can put a team on his back & carry them to a win! Maybe a few times here & there but something magical is in guys like Watson & others.

I don't see that in Lamar. As Swinney said he's Michael Jordan & those guys don't grow on trees. Watson no doubt has it!

I'm still gonna say as I've said before, 2017 class is still better than 2018. Not quantity but quality (as in superstars).

Watson & Mahomes were those only possibilities, where I think the only one might be Mayfield. Laugh all you want lol

LJ nowhere near had the supporting cast that Watson had that put him in such positions. Not taking anything away from Watson. He’s absolutely incredible, but I guarantee you once Lamar gets competent talent around him, he’ll be doing the same thing Watson is doing.

I think we should give it a few years before anointing anyone. Most thought that Derek Carr had the magic too, but he has fallen back to earth.

I think what's holding back Carr is his 2 injuries he's suffered, his Oline looks to have regressed on protection. He looked pretty damn good against the Chiefs last week

I think a mobile QB makes a huge difference in today's NFL with the terrible pass pro plus the freaks that are now chasing those QBs. There's just not many who can scramble & throw well doing it, it's a God given ability to do both IMO.

Should we take two of them? Worked out for the Redskins while everyone else laughed.

*JT, & no. Just one of those very inconsistent QBs in his career that had a standout game.
Correct.
He played great Saturday and has been the last month or so. But there were calls for him to be replaced earlier in the year. By all accounts, he's a great kid and exceptional leader so I could see him making a roster as a backup at some point.

This year's "best class in years" is crumbling before our eyes.

Rudolph - gets the Big 12 *
Rosen - damaged goods
Darnold - Turnover machine, flawed mechanics
Allen - sketchy performances
Mayfield - "too short" :sarcasm:

Jackson - one read and run
then there is the rest of the pack
i.e. Grier, Ferguson, Lauletta, Mike White, Barrett, McSorley

Well said.

Only 1 guy on that list has been consistently very good

Jackson isn’t a “one read & run” QB.

Agreed, he's playing from the pocket more this year. I'm sure he has been told in order to boost his draft stock, scouts will want to see him in the pock surveying the field. He's still my number one target as of right now, of course I thought Ryan Leaf was better than Peyton too, so there is that...:lmao:
