I bet he'll do well here for a few years, go to the Marlins for big money, come back here for a bit, then get another big deal from the Indians.
ROFL. Well if it means a World Series visit and a playoff visit his 2nd stint here.. I'm all for it
We get the first pick in the draft, and it's a down year? That's not good, is it?
First 3 players picked were all shortstops!![]()
There wil be an all star in this draft. From my knowledge of this guy (which amounts to what I've read in the past 2 days). He sounds like a player that can come in and start in a year or two and contribute as a very good, possibly an all star game here and there, but not star level starter. It might not be the sexy Bryce Harper, David Price pick, but there weren't any of those in this draft. If he can be a quality starter, I think we call it a victory.

+1. Swanson is more ML ready in terms of development than Rodgers and has more size than Bergman. I like the pick in that it was BPA and fills an organizational need for a stud SS in the system. Transitioned seemlessly into SS position so it looks like he should be able to stick there in big leagues.I personally love this pick. Maybe he won't be a 10 year all-star player but he will be a roster player and excellent shortstop, and he has character out the wazoo. He is the type of player Adam Eaton was supposed to be in that regard. I prefer college players so so so much more over HS prospects.
With his having played 2B previously, doesn't that make him a double threat to succeed? Almost like a stronger version of Chris Owings?

His listed size looks exaggerated for sure. To me he's maybe 6 ft.
Are you talking about Bregman or Swanson? Swanson is listed at 6'1 so he could be 6'0 without shoes but Bregman is shorter than 6'0.His listed size looks exaggerated for sure. To me he's maybe 6 ft.
