I think one may be for games currently played (SOS) & one may be the total of the teams on our schedule....

The ourlads is games total - figured through week 16 with our 2 remaining games SOS included (both 8-6 records)

The other is games played - records of teams through week 14 without the final 2 games.

We get screwed because we play Sea & Minn, both 8-6.

Total through 14 we have #1 pick. We are 103-93.

Project that w/ the 2 remaining games & we are #2 119-105

SD is 113-111 w/ games vs OAK & Pit records included

Their SOS is 104-92 through 14 games.

If Min & Sea both beat us - & lose their other game, the "best" we can do is 121-107

SD would be 115-113 in the same respect - so they "win" with the first pick.

We need SD to win vs OAK or Pit.

Let's just hope everyone we played loses & the ones that play SD win

Number 2 wouldn't be too bad. San Diego won't take Eli, but they might trade the pick. Gettiing Eli at #2 or #3 will save us a lot of moola!

The problem is that someone could jump ahead of us to take Manning. The big decision is, do we want Eli that bad? Are we just as happy with Roethesberger?

I really expect us to pick #2 in April.

Yeah they would, one of the reasons they put Brees back in as the starter is they're hoping he'll play well and enhance his trade value according to one of the Charger boards I looked at.

Raider fans, Charger fans, Steeler fans, they're all having the same debates we are about Manning, and they all think their team would take him if they had the first pick.

I read a Panther board yesterday that said if the Cards get the first pick, the Panthers should offer us Delhomme, and picks.

give me Rucker or Peppers and I might be interested.

I would talk to New Orleans about a trade. They may way over pay for Eli and do something crazy...Eli would sell a ton of tickets in New Orleans... And...I would tell them - hey - it will cost you guys more than anyone else because we hit the panic button at the #6 pick last year and it cost us an extra pick later in the draft!

Remember...this is the same owner that agreed to trade his entire draft for Ricky Williams...and Ricky was not a legacy nor a hometown hero type.. We could start with their 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick plus aaron brooks and joe horn...plus a defensive player.. but I would start there...depending on where their picks are where they end up for the season..I would ask for Fred Thomas (CB) as the defensive player to see how desperate they are..again..this is a pipe dream to get all this - but if we have the #1 pick we have to make it look like we want to keep it and see if someone goes overboard on an offer.

Question - I heard 2 teams have 2 first round picks - but ourlads just has new england..anyone know more?

I was pumping for us to bring in Willie Whitehead last season...I would not trade for him now - but he is playing decent and is a starter for the Saints - and he could have been had for almost the minimum...signs resigned him late..just pointing this out now that I am on the Saints..
