Sorry to burst your bubble, but not everything that works on the practice field is a success in a game. It’s kind of like gameplanning. It looks great on the whiteboard, but it doesn’t always work out quite as well in a game. Honestly, this is not complicated knowledge.

I guess you are one of the people that also blindly believed the hype about Stephen Williams, Brandon Keith and other training camp darlings?

That’s a fair point. I guess some of us were just responding to K9’s claim that as long as the coaches have studied a player on the practice field, they know how he will perform in a game.

And it does actually happen. I remember that Terrell Owens had bad practice habits, but suddenly turned it on in games. Adam Thielen, Baker Mayfield, Stefon Diggs, , James White are more current players I remember having read that about. Other times it happens to roster bubble players. They haven’t been spectacular in practice, but when they get a chance, they take it. I guess it is something that some players just thrive under game conditions. Probably adrenaline, adrenaline, focus, things like that.
I had the same issue. My coach called me a "money player" ... played like crap in practice but the bigger the moment got the better I performed. Couldn't help it. Just didn't feel it until game time.
