1 - Continue with Brissett. Don’t go back to Murray.

2 - We are at the point in the season where I no longer mind if they lose, since losing will both increase the likelihood that Gannon goes and increase their draft position. Sure, some will say that is a loser mentality. I will argue that to keep doing the same and expect a different outcome is the definition of insanity.

3 - Darius Robinson would have been a decent 4th- or 5th round-pick.

4 - Watching a game with Baker Mayfield is one long reminder of how QB-resurrection is a very real thing. No matter what they do in the draft, I would bring in a quarterback that has the talent, but for different reasons haven’t lived up to it yet. My choice would be Zach Wilson, but there are also a couple of other options (Will Levis, Trey Lance, Justin Fields).

5 - For all the criticism Ossenfort gets, he does have a 100% success rate on big ticket free agent-signings. Sweat is worth every penny.

6 - Good game by Isaiah Adams. He held his own against one of the best nose tackles in the NFL.

7 - Dante Stills is Ossenfort’s best draft pick.

8 - Harrison is one tough hombre. Don’t know what his foot injury was, but it certainly looked like it was hurting a lot.

9 - There are no morale victories, but I must admit that I am impressed by the fight they put up every game (yes, I know it is except for two).

10 - According to The Athletic, Cards have a 39% chance of a top five draft-pick. 93% chance of a top ten.

When I look at the schedule of the teams above them, I could see one or two wins for the Jets (Dolphins, Saints), Giants could beat Washington and the Raiders, and the Saints could beat Jets, Titans and Falcons. Washington could beat the Vikings, and Giants (especially if they get Jayden Daniels back). The Browns have a game against the Titans next week.

Of those teams, the Saints and Giants are two games in front of the Cardinals (because of strength of schedule). The Jets, Browns and Commanders just need one win. Obviously assuming that the Cardinals lose out.

In my mind, only the Titans and Raiders will definitely end above the Cardinals in the standings.

Now ESPN have put their odds out. According to their model, the Cardinals have a 21.9% chance of a top five pick, and 83.3% chance of a top ten pick.

I am all about bringing in another vet to pair with Brissett. I would add Winston to the list. I would also draft a mid round guy like Allar or Maiva(dude from USC sorry about spelling).

Now that were officially eliminated, shouldn't we get these young guys some reps?

LT PJJ
LG Conner
C Fro
RG Adam
Rt Fryar

Ok, now that I typed that, that might actually get someone murdered!

Carry on!
Beachum cannot be much better than Fryar, and they just activated Christian Jones of IR about a week ago. Both Fryar and Jones should get snaps at right tackle. Adams is going to start anyway with Hernandez on IR. Is Evan Brown much better than Conner? Maybe, but it is not like Brown is an All-Pro. I would give Conner a chance.

How about because they maximize the opportunity to win a game?
Looking long term we need to know if these guys have a chance of starting, becoming backups or are they wasting a roster position. Adams looked horrible at the beginning of the season, but he has looked better the past couple of time he has played. You can only learn so much in practice and sitting on the bench. You need playing time to do a real evaluation.

We don’t need to know anything. The coaches know because they’ve seen them in hundreds of practice reps.

Then coaches are trying to keep their current job or be identified as a candidate for their next one.

Adams is butt.

Adams was our highest graded OL last week. Maybe he has turned the corner. In my opinion the OL and DL coaches have already lost their jobs.

If they can’t practice well as scrubs trying to earn playing time, very unlikely they’re going to excel in a game when the other team is trying to win.

Might get someone else hurt.
They can practice very well, yet fail completely in games. You will not know that until you use them in a game.

#1 - The tackling was the worst I've seen in a long time. Tampa's tackling was almost as bad.

#2 - The unblocked rushers were out of control again. It's one thing to get physically beat. But when rushers are running free on every other drop back, it's hard to watch.

No, the predictiveness is exactly the same. Either the player can function in a game or he cannot. There is no way to know that from the practice field.
But if he cannot function well enough in practice to garner playing time, how is throwing him into the game change things?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but not everything that works on the practice field is a success in a game. It’s kind of like gameplanning. It looks great on the whiteboard, but it doesn’t always work out quite as well in a game. Honestly, this is not complicated knowledge.

I guess you are one of the people that also blindly believed the hype about Stephen Williams, Brandon Keith and other training camp darlings?

That’s a fair point. I guess some of us were just responding to K9’s claim that as long as the coaches have studied a player on the practice field, they know how he will perform in a game.

And it does actually happen. I remember that Terrell Owens had bad practice habits, but suddenly turned it on in games. Adam Thielen, Baker Mayfield, Stefon Diggs, , James White are more current players I remember having read that about. Other times it happens to roster bubble players. They haven’t been spectacular in practice, but when they get a chance, they take it. I guess it is something that some players just thrive under game conditions. Probably adrenaline, adrenaline, focus, things like that.
