1 - Congratulations to Tre McBride on setting the record for most catches by a TE in a season ever. And if he has just one catch in the last game, he also sets the franchise record of catches in a season.

2 - It’s really hard to keep focus on the actual game. Honestly, who gives a flying f**k about if they lose by three or four scores? But then you can think about other related things during the game. For example, get a freaking quarterback!

At least I don’t buy any of that “wait until 2027”-nonsense. Have you guys already forgotten how analysts talked about this QB class only six months ago? They expected multiple first-rounders, including several in the top ten.

And then another thing, do you want to go through another miserable season? I mean, have you really given up on the season nine months before it starts? Because that will be the result if they continue with Brissett. I like him, but he is not getting them to the playoff.

3 - Yes, they have a lot of injuries, but other than Walter Nolen, the players on the defensive line are the ones that were expected to contribute the most to that unit. That disappointment is on Gannon and Rallis for not putting them in positions to be more effective.

4 - Every media guy says that Gannon hasn't lost the team and that they play hard for him. Well, they are no longer losing close games, like they did. They are getting absolutely annihilated. That is not the sign of a team that fights hard for their coach.

5 - Matt Haack is a keeper. Blake Gillikin is good, but Haack is great.

6 - This round, the Bears won the NFC North after being in 4th place last season behind three teams that all made the playoffs, and posted the best, second-best and fourth-best record in the NFC. Just saying. It can be done.

7 - The Cardinals are second in the NFL in missed tackles. That’s a coaching thing.

8 - Best game so far by Isaiah Adams.

9 - I see many posters arguing that Bidwill is too cheap to fire Gannon. Don’t you remember that he fired Kingsbury (and maybe Keim) 10 months after giving him a big extension? Don’t you remember that Bidwill kicked Steve Wilks out after one season? Didn’t you read the stories about how Bidwill is a choleric, short-tempered, explosive human-volcano? I don’t believe for a second that he doesn’t have the backbone to dump Gannon if he truly thinks it will help the franchise.

10 - The fear obviously is that the Rams will rest their starters next week, especially since they have no shot at winning the NFC West. However, if they win tonight, they will be the #5 seed if they beat the Cardinals. In that case, they will meet either the Buccaneers or Panthers, but if they win tonight, and lose to the Cards, they will instead play against Philly or Chicago. I don’t think they rest their starters, unless they lose tonight.

Great post but I will focus on this one.
Bears finished last. What did they do? They went out and got the Lions OC. The guy that help lead one of the best offenses in the league.
Then, after watching Williams get hit and sacked a gazzilion times their GM went out and signed not1, not2, but 3 offense linemen. QUALITY LINEMEN. A left guard , a center and an all pro right guard. They didn’t wait around for a Will Hernandez to heal. THEY WENT AFTER IT! Will Monti do the same? Probably not. Will Monti go out and get us a RB? Probably not. We will pray Connor comes back 100% and Benson is going to blossom. We will hear BY MANY OF US, we can’t afford this guy or that guy. I call BS.
Gaurantee we will once again operate like a minor league team. That’s the real problem.

The problem with #9 is in those previous scenarios Bidwill wasn't also still paying the guy he'd fired before, he is now still with Kliff. The best case scenario is Kliff gets a HC job because if I'm not mistaken the cards don't have to pay him if he's hired as a HC?

The salary offsets. If KK makes the same, or more, as a HC, then Mikey is off the hook.

2) You really expect them to draft a QB that can get them to the playoffs next year? Not to mention all of the other holes we have.
3) Discounting our injuries hard to do. We have missed more man games to injury than any other team in the league. We weren’t exactly deep to begin with. Look what it did to our running game vs. last year.
7) Missed tackles have been a problem for Gannon’s tenure. Heard a stat yesterday that the Cardinals have allowed more than 1,200 yards after initial contact this year.

McBride already set the Cardinals record for catches in a season with 119. Hopkins had 115 in 2020 and Fitz had 109 in 2015.

Well the Rams lost so they’ll probably rest their starters however I’m confident McVay would beat us if the cheerleaders suited up.
No, they can still get the fifth seed

If they beat us and Seattle beats San Francisco they get the fifth seed which means a much easier opening around game

11. I can hardly wait for next season lol. It can get worse & more than likely will. I had hope for Gannon & Monti in the beginning, not now, there's just too many missing pieces & not enough coaching or organizational smarts between them to fix this team.

Scratch this thought. However, the Rams can still get the #5 seed, and it "only" requires a win against the Cardinals and a Seattle victory over the Niners. It's not a crazy scenario.

This is the most important part, I think. The Bears had been #4 in the division for three years straight, and pretty much a laughing stock for many years. Last playoff win was in 2011.

However, to me, progress is acceptable. Say the Cardinals are 10-7 next season, finish #2 or #3 in the division, but missed the playoffs. That’s okay with me. Just give me hope for the near future.

Why not, PJ1? I didn’t expect C.J. Stroud or Jayden Daniels to have great rookie seasons. Loss in the divisional playoff round and in the NFC Championship game, and I can tell you that both had horrible offensive lines. Brock Purdy lost the Championship game as a rookie. It can be done. Absolutely.

And I'm sure anyone hiring him as a HC would give him $1 less. I would. Win win for the team and KK. I mean, if KK agrees because bonus money for years past is wild, and contracts can be structured.

The chance of that happening with this Cardinal team are slim and none and you know the rest.

Fully expect the Rams to be watching how the game between the seahawks and niners is going to see if they rest their starters in the second half.

Knowing their coach, preparing for any game is priority 1 especially if the coach believes his players slacked off for the Falcons.

Once the beating has taken place, he’ll rest some players.

It’s also a good time to put some things on film to keep their playoff opponents guessing?

I think everyone here would love and accept a 10-7 record next year. However , to get there we are going to need an aggressive, concise and dynamic off season.
I just don’t see it happening.

I think the Rams will play most of their starters against us. First 5th place is at stake and second I don't think McVay was happy about his team's performance against the Falcons and will be looking to right the ship so to say and get the offense and defense back in tune for the upcoming playoffs. I don't think he wants to go into the playoffs from the performance they had against the Falcons as their jumping off spot.

I could see starters sitting the second half against us once they have the game in hand which is highly probable.

The RB room is empty. Conner will be 31 and coming back from an injury they expect will extend into the 2026 season. Benson has been disappointing and the rest are just scrubs that were never NFL starters.

There are some FAs that can be contributors who I think can become a lead RB if given the opportunity and they will probably need to draft a RB too. Benson has only played in 17 of a possible 34 games so his availability is suspect. Conner has missed time in every season he has played and at 31 is past his prime and will only become more brittle as he ages. Conner could serve as a complementary RB like Montgomery does in Detroit to Gibbs with limited carries but then you need a workhorse like Gibbs which is lacking right now. Conner cannot be the primary RB anymore.
