I said that I think the defense will continue to be bad and I think the team will ultimately be bad. Because of this, My hope is that both Rallis and Monti would be fired when this occurs because they should have been fired when Gannon was fired. None of that is hoping to lose. It's hoping people who are bad at their jobs are held accountable. (and yes, I am aware that Bidwill isn't going to fire Bidwill)
I had some time to waste since I was waiting for a delivery-guy anyway, so I looked back a little.

Here is one example: Yup. My boy hope for the season is Monti getting fired by the end of it. (15 thoughts - free agency | Page 3 | Arizona Sports Fans Forum)

And another: If you aren't going to give your HC a 4th year to show he is the guy, I don't believe it is rational to need to see another year from the GM (2026 Arizona Off Season Thread | Page 11 | Arizona Sports Fans Forum)

And another: I mean...the answer to this draft test is pretty clear. Can't wait for Monti to mess it up. (2025-26 NFL Draft prospect watch | Page 17 | Arizona Sports Fans Forum)

That doesn’t sound like expectations to me, but rather true wishes that those things will happen. Now I don’t have time to find more examples, but I am sure they are there. You can call it wishes based on expectations all you want, but your hope can only be realized if the team lose. At least it would be strange that they go 17-0 (which I hope for) and then the people responsible for that gets fired - which in itself would be strange to hope for.

However, even if you did expect it more than hoped for it, you still wished that they would destroy Love to make the pick worth it. I also think that is strange.

Yes, if by destroy you mean using him at 65% to 75% of snaps to maximize the short term asset they acquired which I stated. And you know, they would do that to try to win games.

You quoted items are funny.

Yes, because I think the Cardinals are going to be bad, I hope Monti gets fired at the end of this potentially bad season.

Yes, I think Monti should have been fired with Gannon because he was equally culpable to the terrible 3 season run.

Yes, I think Monti messed up taking a RB at 3 instead of an edge rusher...which I thought he was going to do and he ultimately did.

I don't really understand what you think you did here.

You are fullblown backpedaling, which is fine, but I really don't want to waste my time. You want Ossenfort fired after winning every game. Cool. You do you, and I wish you a good evening.

Again this is a false premise. Aiden Hutchinson was a recognized blue chipper. There was no known commodity predraft way Hutchinson was recognized predraft.

Reese was more highly graded than Hutch was from this source. I’m obviously prepared to be wrong here, but it’s not that black and white.

There’s a lot of cope folded into the conclusion that Love was the best prospect in the draft.

I dunno, fell to the 5th pick in a pretty meh year for premium positions and the team that drafted him is not playing him at edge. That speaks louder than some website listing him as edge.
“Fell to the fifth pick” is pretty rich. He’s starting exactly where Micah Parsons began his career while getting ready to supplant Kelvin Thibodeaux.

My point isn’t that Reese is better than Adian Hutchinson; it’s that Hutch has outperformed his scouting report.

Similar thing happened with Will Johnson. There are posts here saying that he probably wouldn’t be an elite edge player but right now he looks like the natural successor to Myles Garrett.

I don't understand this. There weren't different grades by NFL.com based on where Mauigoa was projected to play. The grade for the player is the grade for the player for these general draft scouting sites. Individual teams may have something different but that isn't information we have access to.

We talked about the positional uncertainty with both Reese and Mauigoa quite a bit.

Nah. Hutchinson didn’t need to be projected to a position he hadn’t been primarily playing. Reese would’ve been hope. Love’s love isn’t cope from those of us that wanted him because he was pretty nearly the consensus best non-QB talent in the draft.
