Summary: Don’t worry Dillion, I would never try and slide in the “high motor” descriptor or refer to you as “sneaky athletic” as those other lazy folks summarizing the team might do. It’s embarrassing frankly, and I’m glad we’re all operating at a much higher caliber of writing around here than to stoop that low….
Dillion, a young man with an “elevated engine” who some have called “deceptively energetic” is a great second year depth piece for the Cards. The Ryle High grad was a two way player in high school and has good size and speed for someone who is predominately looking to take snaps on the interior, with a hope to join the “flat earthers” and maybe see the edge one day as well. While most would forecast Smith, as we sit today, on the outside looking in of the two deep, we also must realize we’re 94 days out, and we’ve seen some guys emerge during the fall and steal snaps early in the season somewhat unexpectantly. When pulling in transfers you never really know how they will mix and gel with the line, so watch for Smith to try and surprise some folks as a returning athlete who knows the calls, and knows the expectations. Speaking of surprises, maybe his mom can surprise him by going full “Cardinal” this year?
