Johnny Unitas dropped back against Houston in 1951 and connected on a pass that would land him in the record books. On October 9, 2021, seventy years later, quarterback Malik Cunningham matched Johnny Unitas’ distance on the very first play from scrimmage for the Cards, against Virginia. Cunningham set his feet and launched an absolute dime to wide receiver Tyler Harrell for a 92 yard touchdown pass.
The rest of the game was not as much fun…but a great play from two stars in the programs recent history.
