I'm confused why you think that.Nash only did it to benefit the Suns (he hated the Lakers) and because it would work for his family. Amare didn't want to be traded but the Suns (Sarver) wouldn't pay him due to his knee issue (Sarver opted to pay Turkey glue (can't remember how to spell his name) and Warrick instead. And Barkley just had his feelings hurt that he was on the trading table:
Later Regret
Despite forcing his way out of Phoenix, Barkley has since admitted that he did not actually want his time with the Suns to end. In later interviews, he revealed that he had been caught completely off guard by the trade and that his true intention was to finish his career in Phoenix. [1, 2, 3]
Sarver didn't want to pay Amare because no one would insure his knees. That was a risky deal. I think the Suns should have done it given who they gambled on but we didn't know at the time that was the plan. So Amare wanted to stay but wouldn't concede in any way as far as guaranteed years or option years.
