The Trail Blazers added depth, age (23) and defense at power forward for pocket change.

Wow...how is that guy only 23. Did he enter the league at 12? Seems like he's been around for 5-6 years. Now that I know that, I would have loved to give him a shot here.

Yeah, Sochan is only 23 and turned so in May.

I could have been satisfied going forward with Fleming and Sochan at power forward. And for only a fraction of the cost.

Age doesn't matter since it is a one-year contract, so even if Sochan has a breakout-year, the Blazers can not enjoy its benefits (except the on court ones). And again, he is not a true PF.

Who is to say the Blazers can't keep him after the season? And position labels, they are mostly just that, labels.

As long (ahem) as he can cover big/long players on defense, get rebounds and hopefully score close to the basket he can "play" PF even though he's more of a 3&D or a wing.

If 4 guys are on the perimeter and chucking it up, you don't really need size on the 4 position, but Suns got taken advantage of time and time again. Say we start Bridges and Williams we will have:

C Williams 7-1 240
PF Bridges 6-7 225
SF Brooks 6-7 225
SG Booker 6-5 205
PG Green 6-4 185

Not bad but not great either. Depends on how Bridges plays.

If the Suns can't play defense, especially interior defense, it doesn't matter.

Naji Marshall has signed a three-year, $52.2 million contract extension with the Mavericks.

A resolution on Jonathan Kuminga’s free agency could come this week.

The Lakers are viewed as the favorites, but don’t rule out the Timberwolves as a realistic option.

Kuminga might end up betting on himself taking a 1-year deal playing alongside LaMelo Ball + Anthony Edwards.

That's a lot of money for Zach Lavine production.

G: 39
PTS: 19.2
REB: 2.8
AST: 2.3

Pretty good shooting percentages though.

Lavine would have been lucky to get $49 over 3 years in a sign and trade. Can't fault him for opting in. Sacramento was dumb enough to have him on that contract in the first place.

He’s terrible. A complete doormat on defense, dumb offensive player. Not as bad as Kuzma and Jordan Poole but he’s up there.

I'd rather have Kuzma or Poole over Lavine. They've at least been on winning teams before, albeit through no real help from them. Lavine is an absolute black hole who loses wherever he is. 12 years and 1 playoff appearance to show for it and that was a sweep.

Their highs are higher but their lows are lower.

When they combined in Washington it was the a clown show, the lowlights were pure comedy.

The Hawks are shopping Buddy Hield in trade talks.

Atlanta is currently over the roster limit, and Hield could net an asset.

Hield makes $9.7 million this season, which includes a $10.1 million player option for 2027-28

He wasn't even in their rotation. I can't imagine someone trading for him.

The Mavericks are shopping PJ Washington in trade talks.

After Dallas signed Naji Marshall to a long-term extension, plus prioritizing development for Morez Johnson Jr., Washington’s role will change.

Washington is under contract through 2030 averaging $22.2 million annually.

What an organization.

It's the old cliche. You might not like Ishbia and the moves he's making, but at least we're not the Sacramento Kings.
