there's still time for the maluach doubters to publicly reaccess their opinions before the season begins - better get on board lol

If there’s anyone who gets me excited about next season (and the future in general), it’s this dude. He’s the key to this team getting demonstrably better at some point.

Big man who plays like a big man but then can still shoot the three. He makes use of it in the screen and roll. He can screen and pop to the three point line as well. His three-point shooting seems to be legit, and that adds a new dimension to the Suns offense.

He matured quite a lot in every aspect of the game. He's a quick learner. Very excited to his further development next season.

He has received top tier coaching for years now, which helps. He was at Duke, of course, but also played for the Sudanese national team for the last 3 years and has been enrolled in an NBA academy in Africa since 2019. He was the youngest player in the men's Olympics for basketball also. Hes super mature for a 19 year old. His hunger to improve is also endearing. So glad we were able to add him and he's here now with the new G-League squad and we're able to be patient with him.

I don't put a lot of stock in Summer League, but it's great to see Man Man absolutely dominating. He's still only 19, he's younger than 95% of the guys out there.

The stuff he's showing on defense and his outside shooting and his ability as a lob threat... those all look like real, NBA level skills right now.

I know his rebounding numbers are good, but he still gets caught out of position a lot and boxed out (but I think it's because he's focused on rim protection).

If he can develop a legit post game, the sky is the limit. But that is hard work.

Khaman Maluach on what’s grown most off the court from his rookie to sophomore season:

“I think I’ve always had the mental edge. I just had to go to the next level. Basketball is almost 90% mental than physical. Learning from older guys, reaching out to other bigs in the NBA and being able to learn from them.”

“I reached out to Rudy (Gobert) and I asked him how he keeps up with his body. What he does throughout the whole summer, and just really learn from him and have something to take away from him.”

Khaman Maluach made just 4 three-pointers on 16 attempts at Duke.

In 4 Summer League games, Maluach is 8/20 (40.0%) from beyond the arc

If Man Man can shoot 36% from three, it makes the spacing in our offense completely different. Suddenly Miles and Koa fit perfectly.

Khaman Maluach is 7'2 and shooting 50/40/90 in the Summer League

He's also averaging 18.3 PPG, 12.0 RPG, and 3.7 STOCKS
It's funny, it doesn't really seem like he is shooting the 3 that well to me, because when he misses, he usually misses badly.

I am going to be super angry if they don't find him at least 15 minutes a game from game 1. I think he will quickly earn more time, and we will trade Williams at the deadline.

This kid has been impressive the way he is determined to improve. He’s not scared to be physical and he looks to have added a legit 3 point shot. He is a big key to how good we become, very fun.
