I don't like that Bridges's on-court contributions are being way overhyped to compensate for his off-court problems. He's just not that good a player. Even if he were a model citizen off the court, this would be a questionable move.
I would generally ague the opposite. People are so down on the off the court stuff that they are downplaying his impact on court.

He’s a solid starter not sure what’s being overhyped

I agree Miles Bridges as a player is more than capable of starting. I'm not overly focused on this part.

Actually, the Suns have four players that could start at power forward if push came to shove: Bridges, Brooks, Fleming and Peat. If we throw in Highsmith, that's five.

That's a good situation. This is why I'm more concerned about the center position, although it looks good on paper.

Who is over hyping his on court play? I'm not seeing that anywhere.

People that are under the delusion that the front office thinks this makes us contenders. They don't.

This was just a move to get a little younger and slightly upgrade. If this was the best they could get for Royce and Grayson it's fully understandable why they did the deal.

I haven't seen anyone call us contenders. The most I've seen is it makes us slightly better as a team but we're still a 4-6 seed, or even a play in squad.

Suns will have media availability for Miles Bridges next week as they are currently in Vegas for summer league this week
How convenient. Funny how all these others Suns are talking to the media, the GM is interviewed during the game. They couldn't throw up a Suns backdrop and do the deed? The whole Suns media team is there.

Or maybe his ex won't let go of him. He was clearly wrong in the past. That doesn't mean he is in the present. Not enough info to draw conclusions about recent stuff.
Sure JC, just a victim of circumstance. Amazing that he continues to have issues! Again - the main point here is people seem to think he'll move the needle. Based on how he's played so far in his career, that's not the case. He's not going to move us from a play in team to a top 5 team.

Why risk it on a guy that like him? Why give up an unprotected 33 pick? Makes no sense.

Current trend of NBA seems that players on the court should be able to make plays with the ball, as much as possible. Every starter of the champion NYK can do so, with Brunson among the best in the league, and Hart a bit weaker. Among Spurs starters, only Champagnie cannot do so, but they have Harper as 6th man. Suns had only 2.5 play makers in Book and Green, and Brooks as .5. With MB, they have 3.5 playmakers now. Once Peat and Oso and Gillspie mature more, they'd in addition have 3 more on the bench.

It's only Summer League, so you cannot translate directly to the NBA, but Peat looks like he will be a playmaker.

Well on x there are a bunch of crazies. They act like if a move isn’t making a contender there is no reason to do it.

What impact did he ever make on a perpetually awful Hornets team? Even this past year when they were even more talented in a weaker East, no one was any kind of ultimate difference maker to even get them into the playoffs.

Geez, name one person that says Miles Bridges makes us contenders.

We get you are overly negative about the Suns, but you don't need to make stuff up to prove it to us.

One person (especially THAT person) doesn't make a team (especially THAT team), whether he's a scumbag or not.

I didn't want Bridges, but this management team has earned a little bit of trust by me. I will reserve judgement until I see the product on the floor. I did NOT want Koa Peat after seeing his shooting at the combine. I'll admit I was wrong. So I am willing to see the vision they have here with Bridges.

And no one said he should “make the team”. Someone said he can make an impact and and I’m wondering how do someone gauge his ability to make an impact when he made none on that team whether they were talentless or then even as they got more talent. Because either way, the team still stunk or missed the playoffs.

So your saying you can't have a impact if you lose.

It really sucks that this guy is going to be on our team.

We're gutting our morality the 150th best player in the league...

Cool.

Well... at least he didn't kill her!

The team that won 1 less game than us last year? He has shown on more than one occasion that he can be one of the best players on at least a solid team. Time will tell if he can be a big part of a really good team, but I suspect he can.

The Hornets would not have won as many games without Bridges dose that count as a impact?

miles is a good player - there's no debating this - i bet his numbers get even better being next to williams again - and players (in general) just play better with devin booker

miles isn't a good person - but from everything i've read he's trying to be - this includes reporting his baby mama for throwing water on him instead of engaging - i see people trying to knock him for that recent incident and i think it's bs

miles has also moved to a different state meaning he will see her even less - i think they're still in a custody battle for the kids - that's about as far as i'll get into that

but miles will make an impact here - if you watch the tape he and williams just attack the paint together - no point guard needed - miles draws the attention and williams cuts to the basket - bingo bango

the more i'm learning - miles is more of a point-forward than i anticipated - that's what koa said he wants to be - that's also what i think oso is - none of them can hit the 3 but they can all penetrate and hit their teammate for the 3

tipping rebounds - it's been trending for awhile now in the league - not only does miles rebound but like williams - miles is a big tipper too - possessions and extended possessions is what ott wants

asfn disclaimer: i'm not defending the person i'm defending the player who's quite capable of making a substantial impact

my brain is all about the impact - my brain is exploring new territory - it's called the paint - where we've always been known to visit but have never declared official residence - we don't receive our mail there

i'm all about the paint this year - i might show up to a game dressed as a painter - do they let paint brushes in the michigan state building?
