nobody here condones domestic violence - we're not the ones who have to put out a mission statement regarding miles bridges

i didn't want miles - im not going to stick up for or defend him - i'm gonna keep it what it is

if you put your hands on a woman like that you're forever f***ed - as it should be - his rep was ruined - he was suspended and missed out on who knows how much money - crazy money

that's what you get - that and a ish ton of anger management - i saw the pics and i'm shocked he didn't get jail time - but who am i to judge?

that's where it gets tricky right? we as fans have the right and in some cases the responsibility to let ownership know what does and doesn't go

if ish had traded for miles bridges during the suspension - fresh off the ass whooping - before demonstrating (not just saying) he could get his life in order - you would have saw a much different hippie

the dude beat his wife infront of his kids - that will never change and it forever be out there

he now has to change and become an example to his kids - if playing in phoenix helps him do that and if he helps phoenix at the same time - that's what it is

he'll obviously stay under a microscope long after his probation ends - and deservedly so - i'm not compartmentalizing - i'm not justifying or condoning - and i'm not comparing pink pu$$y hats either

if trading quality character for violent offenders bothers you - that's good - it means you have your priorities in order - no "buts" at the end of this here paragraph

good morning asfn

The only time I will cheer for this pile of trash human is if he's being dragged off on a stretcher.

What makes this worse... I would hate this trade even if he wasn't a cowardly, woman beating pile of crap eating trash.

We gave up an unprotected pick and TWO players that I am not convinced are not better players in their own right.

The excuse I keep hearing is that we needed a power forward.. HE'S NOT A POWER FORWARD!

I guess I am in the doubtful camp. I was doubtful that Dillon Brooks was going to work. I know I read here people were worried about his character and the Suns. I am reserving judgement to see how this works. So far the Suns staff has been smarter than me. Not saying that's a high bar, LOL. It's a LONG off season.

Often overlooked in this trade, the Suns saved about $20 million in luxury tax. This likely was a huge factor.

I agree but he could play with Flemming as a SF

I'm not hating on the guy, I haven't lived his life and I don't understand the kind of relationship he apparently had. But I despise the fact this organization just made the move without doing some cleanup along the way. Tell us why he isn't human garbage, show us he's grown and moved beyond his crimes. But they did little of that, leaving us to look at the pictures and wonder why they thought it was a good idea to go after him.

And it's even more worrisome that we did this with a player that doesn't really move the needle.

Trying to figure out Mat Ishbia’s strategy.

As I look at it, I'd describe it as foundational opportunism. It’s about culture and development, yet he’s not afraid to throw the long pass whenever the opportunity arises.

Successful business people often operate this way. They are not afraid to take calculated risk.

It's not even official yet. They won't be able to comment on it until it is. Let's wait and see how they handle it.

Yes he is. He's listed as both SF/PF.

It’s not about culture when you bring in a woman beater… and apparently wanted to bring the woman beater in 2 years ago before that woman beater had much time to prove he had learned from his “mistake”.

This specific situation has been hashed out endlessly. Now I want to focus on basketball.

I’m curious how you weigh in on other crimes as well. Maybe that’s a conversation for another forum?

It’s definitely worth exploring.

The trade is likely to go through, but this might give hope for some.

This is part of the issue; when taking a position that people who do horrible things should marked for life and never be forgiven.

One case that comes to mind is a woman whose son was killed by a drunk driver. Her 10year old son bled to death in her arms sitting in an intersection. Her and thousands like her consider driving while intoxicated the worst crime a person could commit next to outright murder. How many on this board have had a couple drinks and driven a vehicle?

How many have, at some point done illegal drugs, marijuana before it was legal, a little coke maybe? That money directly pays for organized crime, gangs human trafficking etc.

I don't know where the line should be drawn, but luckily, we can all make our own decisions.

There is literally no way to go through life without financially supporting horrible people and the organizations that pay them and often make them rich. So, for me, I let the justice system handle it, and hope the person turns their life around.

Access to first rounders that are leveraged 4 different ways.

We gave up an unprotected pick 2033 for a pick that is pick swapped by 5 different teams with us having the last bite.

Monumentally stupid.

This franchise cannot see the forest through the trees.
Yes, but their thinking process probably was that Bridges' contribution will be bigger than Allen's and O'Neal's combined.

Life isn’t black and white, it’s full of gray. Who are we to issue lifetime verdicts?

Every situation has its own layers. That’s exactly why we have a criminal justice system: to weigh those complexities.

This topic could be better explored on the P&R forum.

He plays bigger than he is due to his athleticism. I missed having an athletic forward who can dunk at will, or even a person who wants to flush everything.

This franchise cannot see the forest through the trees.

It's so weird because they've been active during the draft and seem committed to developing youngsters and value them, being active to get their guys. I could see JJ making these moved since he seemed to despise the draft but he's gone.

Its also weird how often we deal with Charlotte. Starting with the Nick Richards trade they've really taken advantage of us.

Players Lost

Josh Okogie
Jusuf Nurkić
Vasilije Micić
Grayson Allen
Royce O'Neale

Players added

Nick Richards
Cody Martin
Vasilije Micić (later traded back to Charlotte)
Mark Williams
Miles Bridges

Draft Picks Out
4 First Round Picks out
3 Second Round Picks out

2025 first-round pick (#29)
2026 first-round pick
2026 second-round pick (via Denver)
2029 first-round pick (least favorable of Cleveland/Minnesota/Utah)
2031 second-round pick (via Denver)
2031 second-round pick (Phoenix)
2033 first-round pick

Draft Picks In
1 First Round Pick
3 Second Round Picks

2025 second-round pick (least favorable of Denver/Philadelphia)
2026 second-round pick
2027 second-round pick
2029 first-round pick

that's not true. The Celtics made their trade a couple days ago and they've been flapping their gum freely about it since it went down.

The Suns look like freaking cowards right now waiting this long to talk about why they willfully are bringing a guy who brutally beat a woman a couple years ago, while sending off another unprotected first round pick in the process.

i agree with this key point And especially since Green would be seeing much more game time. He's got potential but the new mix is less grit, more offense, especially 2's around the basket, but likely less 3's, with a bad defensive mix in crunchtime and even more lack of team play on offense, closing out games. Worse than the 2nd half of last season.

BS. He's on the Suns and that makes it a topic of the team. If you're uncomfortable with it, blame the team for making it an issue.

Has the trade been made official? I don't know if I've seen that. I agree, the Suns do look bad for not addressing it if the trade has indeed happened.

I only ask because if it isn't official, we could point to Grayson's health, maybe he didn't pass the physical yet or something?
