Does this give us the market value for Grayson Allen?

Detroit’s All-NBA forward Jalen Duren was reportedly “underwhelmed” by the team’s initial offer in restricted free agency and is planning to explore sign-and-trade scenarios, per
@sam_amick
.

The gap between the two sides is significant enough that Duren is considering ways to land with another team, with a sign-and-trade seen as the preferred route.
That is the center we should go after. I know we probably don't have the assets, but I would try.

Not really. Isaiah Joe is much younger and cheaper than Allen. I think Grayson has the value of a late lottery pick, somewhere in the teens.
HUH? You really think Grayson is worth significantly more than Joe - with a bigger contract?

Why? Because of his mediocre ability to shot create? That sure as hell isn't worth much on most teams.

You severely underrate our players in the context of the NBA. You may despise them and their fit on the team and on our financials, but what you think is't going to be the prevaling opinion of the NBA.

how do you come to that conclusion? Grayson is older, more injury prone and on a much worse contract. I could see him netting a late first rounder, but if he could have gotten us a late lottery pick, I feel like the Suns would have done that in a heartbeat, if for no other reason than to get rid of his deal.

why do you do this? you're just looking to start fights with this kind of stuff.

The Suns aren't the prevailing opinion of the NBA... they're the opinion of the Suns. If Grayson Allen was so widely valued, as Hoop Head suggested, as a late lottery pick, you don't think the Suns would have jumped on that chance considering how bare our coffers are there and how desperately this team needs young talent for the future? Your assertion that his estimation of our players is out of whack with the rest of the league has just as much or as little evidence as to the prevailing opinion of the NBA as yours does.

I think they would have done that if we had a trade, too. I think maybe Allen would be worth more at a midseason trade deadline. A team that loses a shooter and needs one badly. The only problem is most teams are coming up against the aprons. Will there be space to make a trade on our end, and another team? We'll see.

That's less than Joe, 1 pick vs 2. I don't see Grayson netting multiple 1sts.

Just a hunch. He's a starter quality player who isn't overpaid and has been part of winning teams since he's been in the league. I think a pick in the teens isn't far fetched.

I mean it's no different than you thinking adding KD would make us a contender. Maybe I'm wrong but it's my opinion and I'll own it. Until he's moved though we can't say for certain.

Oh please. You are one of the most egregious perpetrators of this. You write this thinking that there were multiple teams offering picks for Grayson Allen. How do you know that? Who told you that was the case?

Grayson Allen is definitely worth at least as much as a mid-round pick. Thinking otherwise isn't in the realm of reality.

For someone who starts fights all the time, you really need to learn how to hold a conversation. It's like nobody can disagree about anything without being branded as wanting to start a fight. Give me a break. It's a freaking message board.
