I'm going to guess there may have been a few (or several) other players with Mexican heritage over the years. But apparently not very many who were actually born in Mexico.

yeah both his parents were born in the US too

Morez Johnson goes to Dallas higher than expected. really liked him in college doesn't have the range or handle that Yaxel does but he's bigger and longer and can really defend.

The Warriors (No. 11 pick) and Hawks (No. 8 pick) have been discussing whether to use their picks to trade for Trey Murphy III, per

I expect the W's will take Mara or Landeborg that's been the buzz.

trey Murphy has been mentioned with the W's for awhile now so would not be a shock if they made a move for him

Yaxel it is. He's got some Draymond to his game he's versatile, athletic and tough.

I might have taken Mara myself for rim protection but happy with this pick. If they make a move for Murphy I assume Yaxel would be in there. As mentioned on ESPN with Butler hurt and Moody out there's room for Yaxel to get time right away if he's ready to do so.

Also curious how Porzingas fits he's a terrible post defender, he can block shots but he got abused inside last year but they are allegedly keeping him

Yeah, that's a smart pick for the Warriors. He can play right away.

Boring so far no surprises really. I will say my sleeper pick is Ament, I know his offense is a bit of a project but he's awfully talented. Won't be surprised if he winds up a better player than guys picked before him

He's basically competing with Santos for minutes at the 3 until Butler gets back. So yeah he should get good run right away if he's ready. I love his defense, 4 in college but I think they will play him at the 3. Maybe 4 when Draymond is at the 5 . Just watched an interview with him I already liked him but seems like a great kid, don't anticipate him having the issues Kuminga did I think he gets that he has to fit into the existing system.

Sad part is they might have a first round pick, but we won’t find out until next week since the NBA is ridiculous when it comes to their draft
