Gambo names some players the Suns have interest.

@Gambo987
47m

Ok I know Suns fans have been waiting for this - Here are some names I expect the Phoenix Suns to have interest in if they stay at #47 or move up in the second round. Not sure they can get any of these at 47 so main reason I have been saying I expect they attempt to move up in the second-round.

Baba Miller
Trevon Brazile
Tyler Bilodeau
Ja'Kobi Gillespie
Joshua Jefferson
Dillon Mitchell

Trevon Brazile is 6-11 with a 41 inch vertical! Wow. I am not promoting him or anything. Its just that stood out.

So. Just watching a little video on him. He is 6-11, moves like a g/f, has a 41 inch vert and blocks 1.7 per game. He also shoots 34% from three. His defensive rating is his negative. He would be an interesting flyer in the mid second round.

I guess the knock on him is that he is inconsistent and may have a fairly low basketball IQ. Looks like he kind of a 6-11 Gerald Green.
Yes, based on his highlights and stats Brazile is an excellent prospect.
I think that the knock on him is that he will be almost 24 years old, when the next season starts, his 1.6 APG and 1.1 TPG are not that intimidating.

Yes, and Eduardo Najera played for the Mavs and other teams.
Going back in time a bit. It's kind of surprising that with the rise of international basketball talent everywhere, it's been that long since we've seen any players from Mexico in the NBA.

There are some interesting players at the end of round two, if the Suns just stand pat.

Rafael Castro, a 6-10 pf center, that averages 20 pts, 12 boards, 2.3 blocks and 2.3 steals. He also has a 36 inch vert. But he doesn't shoot the 3.
Tobe Awaka is a 6-9 rebounding maniac, averaging nearly 16 boards a game for Arizona. He also shoots 40% from three. He also has a 36 inch vertical.
Trevon Brazile--already discussed earlier.
Maliq Brown gets 3.2 steals a game for Duke, that stat is often considered one of the most consequential for predicting success in the NBA.
Izaiyah Nelson gets nearly 13 boards per game, 2 blocks and more than 2 steals.

There will be some undrafted players this year that go on to have quality NBA careers.
This shows how much not watching a guy can be misleading. Awaka can’t shoot further out than a layup. Is likely 6’6 at best and can’t jump even a little.

A couple of quick notes of what I'm hearing with just over 2 hours until the draft:

- Lots of talk about the Hawks making a trade
- Lots of Trey Murphy trade talks (could be linked to ATL)
- Brayden Burries isn't falling past 11
- Teams waiting to see if they can trade up for Yaxel Lendeborg in 15-17 range
- Multiple teams have eyes for Morez Johnson in the 9-14 range
- Tarris Reed & Sergio De Larrea will likely go before people think
- Possible Jayden Quaintance & Henri Veesaar fall to second round

Less than an hour before the NBA Draft, the Mavericks continue to receive calls for the No. 9 pick, but the majority of the league believes they will be keeping this pick.

If not Aday Mara or one of the Michigan guys following Dusty May to Dallas, Nate Ament looms large.

This could go one of several ways, as the Bucks are also said to be high on both Nate Ament and Kingston Flemings.

Bucks have discussed a trade up to No. 8 with the Hawks, where they could take Ament or Flemings.

Hawks are being linked hard to Brayden Burries right now.

Jaquez is Mexican American but was born in the US.

I'm going to guess there may have been a few (or several) other players with Mexican heritage over the years. But apparently not very many who were actually born in Mexico.
