I don’t care about his gambling problem. I’ve seen him play. He’s completely overhyped. The Big 12 embarrassed themselves crying about a guy who would have lost 3-4 games min this season at Tech. He went 7-5 in his best season at Cincinnati. Just embarrassing how much people have obsessed over a very very mid talent.
You might very well be correct, and I'll only remind you that the 'Draft' is based on what teams think you'll be able to do in the future, more than what you've done in the past.

Yes, and it allegedly smells like desperation in here, yet - "All 32 NFL teams expected to attend Brendan Sorsby's Pro Day..."

No team wants to be called out for not looking into him it seems.

He didn't place "a couple of 20 dollar bets" - he placed more than 9,000 bets totaling at least $90,000, including 40 bets on his own team. In his own words: "What started small when I was in high school turned into a daily habit of betting on all kinds of sports, including some sports that I didn't follow and had no interest in like tennis and Romanian soccer. Gambling became an addiction."

Betting on Romanian soccer tells me that he is in fact an addict and that this was no legal ploy to garner sympathy (which not only failed, but would've been a poor strategy as I suspect that NFL teams should be far more afraid of trusting an addict than someone who convincingly claimed, "I was making millions in NIL money; it was just pocket change to me and I just did it because I was bored. But I know it's against the rules and would never jeopardize my career again in that way, so I have no problem giving it up.").
Hey now. No personal attacks buddy. Wagering on international sports is actually less risky depending on what information you have access to.

right...but is it the GM and head scout attending??

Or the first year scouting intern that is only in the building because his great aunt Gretchen has been an admin assistant for Michael for 15 years...

"attending"...can mean lots of things

Just because I think any team willing to spend a day 1 pick on this kid would be DAF, they'd also be DAF to not scout him. At some point he's worth the risk...just not worth mortgaging the future.

I know he broke ncaa rules and betting on your own team is immoral, but cmon it not like the guy committed a crime- sports gambling is legal and easily accessible from your phone apps nowadays.

I want beck to be a stud as much as the next guy, but the chances aren’t amazing and our current “starter” is a career back up who is holding out right now. What kind of luxury do you think this garbage team has right now???

I say throw a 3rd round pick for him- if you get him, who gives a F if he’s suspended for 6 games, plenty of time for us to see what we have in beck and if he’s not the solution we can see what sorsby has at the end of the year.

If he’s a bust, distraction, flames out we only wasted a day 2 pick that monti would have wasted on a benson/adams/elijah jones esq pick anyway.

I know he’s got a couple red flags, but he’s a young college kid who made some bad decisions and we’ve certainly seen nfl players do worse than this. Cardinals aren’t winning anything until we have a legit qb- and if our offensive minded coaching staff can mold this kid with god given talents into something special- we are in no position to snub our noses at it.

He should be drafted by a team in one of these states.

Six games might not be too bad, maybe, but, I read from one of the sports writers, that he might be suspended for up to 2 years.

Two years would be nuts. Didnt the lions receiver Williams get like a 4 game suspension for betting a couple years ago?

And if that guy hit free agency, people would be clamoring for the Cards to sign him. Why is it different for a college kid?
BTW, I'm not saying use a 1st round claim on him but a 2nd rounder I'd be fine with.

Cards will be at his pro day which makes sense as that is a what their scouts are paid to do. The interview process will be key for whomever drafts him. They will also have to really monitor him and provide appropriate consuming for his addiction. Can't see the Cards drafting him as they already have Carson Beck to develop. But who knows what they might do.

Sorry I think your wrong. With techs defense they would have been a tuff out in the playoffs. I would love for the Cards to get him with a second round bid. But I think Harry is right someone that plans on having a late first round pick will get him. My guess is Denver or Houston

According to Kalshi odds as of mid-June 2026, the Pittsburgh Steelers are the most likely landing spot at 26%, followed by Arizona Cardinals (16%) and New York Jets (16%)

I think the Steelers make the most sense to spend a 1st rd pick on Sorseby. The 2027 draft is suppose to be incredibly loaded but after this year the Steelers qb situation is worse than ours. Maybe they go after Mac Jones but his ceiling isn't top 10 nfl qb.
