He's more promising than Beck, but that's not saying much. In retrospect, would have been much better to use a top 90 pick on someone else, and then a 4th or so on Sorsby, but here we are.

There are a few issues with signing Sorsby.
1 - You have to carry him on the 53 man roster or another team will just sign him off your practice squad. That means you carry either 3 or 4 QBs for the year, and if you carry 3, Minshew, Beck, and Sorsby is a very questionable mix.
2 - How do you manage Beck, a 3rd rounder, giving up a 2027 2nd 3rd or 4th for Sorsby, and then using a top 10 pick in the 2027 on a QB as well? I am not sure how you navigate that other than just wasting a lot of picks.

Yeah it makes zero sense to take Sorsby who already has red flags. The Cards used the #65 overall pick on Beck, which is one pick away from being a 2nd rounder. So they clearly liked him enough to take him that high. Taking Sorsby at this point would mean he comes in already behind the curve. How would the Cards be able to figure out what they had with 2 rookies right before a critical draft in 2027.
It just make zero sense unless they are "following the Browns model", which no one has said ever.

Yes. The situation changed
Ironic that all of the players we dabbled with who had alcohol or substance abuse issues were all drafted while we had a GM who couldn't handle his own alcohol issues. I think his closeness to Michael himself was the only way he got away with some of those picks. He likely had to argue/fight to make some of them.
Floyd showed some flashes but ultimately got cut after getting a DUI. Surprise, surprise.
Honey Badger was awesome and benefitted from having former teammate Patrick Peterson already on the Cardinals as an accountability helper.
Nkemdiche was a huge bust.
Jalen Thompson was great during his time here.
Walter Nolen has already shown flashes but needs to stay healthy so he can be on the field and productive.
We are in the midst of Idiocracy while quickly speedrunning toward a future somewhere between Terminator and Cyberpunk 2077.

I certainly hope they wouldn't pass on Sorsby, or any QB talent because of Carson Beck, Minshew, or Brissett. That would be very Lossenfortesque.

I'm guessing you wouldn't be using a 2027 1st rounder on a QB and it frees them up to take a top player at another position. If Sorsby has a 1st round grade, I'd have no problem taking with a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. Although, it would likely have to be a 2nd.
And, who cares about managing Beck or Minshew? Teams need a top QB to win. I keep hearing his skillset is that of Jay Cutler. If he's not a douchebag like Cutler, I'd take that talent in round 2 every day.
