It was a joke. I don't think optics matters at all, trading or keeping pick. No one will care.

Any specific scenario is a low %, sure. I'd say it's more than likely we are a top 3 pick. Jets are up there too, and we play them.

Who else will be bad and needs a QB? Dolphins? Browns?
Again, just my opinion, but if the Cardinals get the 1 overall pick and trade down, I think fans will care.

If 2027 is a good class

NY Jets
Miami
Pit
Cleveland
Houston (maybe)
Indy
Denver
Dallas
NY Giants
Minnesota
Atlanta
New Orleans
Carolina
Tampa
Seattle

Not all of these teams are projected to be bad, but they also aren't committed long term to their current QB. It doesn't take much to go from ok to bad in a season in the NFL. The league is designed for parity.

Fans will never universally agree, sure, and only taking the right selection will matter in the end (which we won't know for awhile). I'm not convinced BidMo would make a decision based off any perceived fan sentiment.

There's a few teams (in bold) I'd be surprised if they spent a 1st/2nd on a QB (3rd round is when it would get interesting depending who is left). Italicized, I would say are teetering on taking one or not, with this season being an ultimate will he or won't he.

Major wildcards I see are:

Dolphins: If somehow Willis looks great, they may not want to spend a high pick on a QB this year, but prime to take one high if he flounders.

Bucs: Probably the most important. Maybe Baker will lead them to the promised land, but most likely they're gunna have to decide to keep Baker or Bowles. Baker could go to any of the listed teams and is a starting caliber QB. I expect him to stay though.

Browns: Wtf is this team?

Definitely would be another example of the Cardinals being a laughingstock franchise.
No certain how this is funny. Manning is certainly talented. He’s a bit of a gambler and loves to run, perhaps too much. Moore is primarily a pocket passer with great touch and exceptional judgment. That would seem to fit the MLF historical pattern. Manning will go first in this draft unless he breaks a leg. By taking Manning they could certainly get another draft pick in a great draft. Even if the team after the Cards doesn’t want Moore they’d take him, if they got Manning plus give the Cards a pick & Moore for their trouble. The new owner of Manning could in turn flip Manning for a nice profit.

If Manning doesn't improve significantly, he won't go 1st overall. He's just nowhere near good enough yet.
