I'm guessing this judge had a huge poly market bet that Sorsby would play next season. As they say...if you ain't cheatin, you ain't tryin.

What a joke.

Sorsby broke the number one rule in all sports, it means a ban in all sports this trash judge rules in his favor to prevent monetary injury.

“ yes I used insider info to gamble on ‘amateur’ sports in which I was a part of, but I shouldn’t be punished because that would cost me money!”

Noah Shannon was banished from his final season at Iowa and undrafted because of a $20 bet on the Iowa Womens' Basketball team in their NCAA championship game. What a cesspool.

Well, it's difficult to discuss when you have clearly not read the post I answered.
I did. You cited players who had a high draft grade after their sophomore season and returned for their junior season. Basically, unless they had a prep year to add additional eligibility, they were not draft eligible. They had to return. Herbert and Locker were different in that they returned for their 4th year.

This would be Soreby's 5th year, so two years after he has been draft eligible...if he was a top prospect, he would have declared. The one caveat I will give is if he felt his stock was going to tank due to these allegations but even with that logic, he still wasn't getting drafted high.

I have also watched Sorsby...he is a very unrefined player especially for someone who has been in college for 4 years.

And yet Pete Rose had to wait until he died to become eligible for the HOF.

The world is a strange and wild place. Corruptible to the end, rotten to the core, though populated with a certain percentage of decent folk. This entire thing stinks to high heave. Regardless of afflictions, actions have consequences. Apparently in this case that means a mea culpa and a 30 day stay in a posh re education camp.

There are days when Id like to check out. But Im stuck here.

I figured he was going to be eligible. That's the problem today. You have these small district courts make rulings that are binding.
We'll, binding until appeals and they all almost get overturned but it serves it purpose in the meantime with no consequences.

Pete Rose continued to lie about it even though it was proven he bet on baseball while managing the Reds. Once he was broke and needed a book to sell he came clean.
Wait, what? You can get paid for writing a book by admitting that you have gambled.
What else can you admit to and get paid for it?? Because I've got some stories.. LOL ;)

agree. The quality of the average human being seems to have been on a steep decline ever since the French inquisition.

dude... " Fiction"..... never write non fiction for those scenarios.
People call it, reality...Hard hitting, gritty...
But courts call it "evidence"

Fiction brother....fiction

This is simply incorrect. That was why I corrected you in the first place, because you are misleading people. I don’t know if it influences people’s opinion about Sorsby, but it certainly could, and I just think that is wrong. Not everyone follows college football and the draft closely.

I don’t really care if you think he stayed in college to become better. The problem is that you state it as facts. I hope posters have found out now that it might be more complicated than that, so I will stop this back-and-forth now.
