I like Simpson and was hoping the Cards could get him but not with the #3 pick. I'm not sure if he really is any better than Nussmeier, Allar or Beck and hope the Cards take one of them to develop. Bottom line for me its no big deal that the Cards didn't get Simpson.

Is McVay usually silent in these situations.

So disappointed in my fellow Cards fans. It's not a great look celebrating a foes "mistake" but I'm guilty of it myself. But celebrating a perceived mistake is simply tempting the football gods to slap us around yet again. Karma is real and she is a bi.....

It's not nearly as bad as the 49ers making a massive trade for Trey Lance. And huge effup barely hurt them at all.

Actually refresh my memory because I think you are both correct. Wasn’t Denny the Coach and GM in everything but name? Denny made those picks that built the Super Bowl team.
Denny had a lot of input but ultimately I think the roster decisions came from Graves. It’s a spectrum right? Green, Gannon, and Arians IMO had a lot of input and influence. Kingsbury and MLF have/had relatively little. Whis was in the middle.

For late pick of Simpson fans like me, there was no way to stop this if the trade wasn’t there. I think those gloating will end up not being happy. He has potential. Rams will likely find it in 2 years.

Yep. That is why I had the Cards taking with the 12 overall pick in my mock. If the Cards really wanted him that’s where I felt they needed to take him.

We didn’t have two years so he was for sure not for the Cards.

I can’t even imagine having to wait till 2030 to see a kid play and make us relevant.

I’m not sure why the difference matters much
because he's looking for any reason not to admit he was wrong after being so boisterous about Simpson not getting picked until the 3rd round and instead he got picked by one of the best FO in football in the first half of the first round.

I think Mike L might be a little shocked now this happened, but it's really typical, often times it's being thrown a curve ball like this that forces you out of your safe zone. I'm not happy Simpson went to a division rival, I figure this will haunt us but there's not a lot the Cardinals could of done to stop it either.
