Don’t know about undrafted, but can make a case regarding number of starts as a concern. If he did stay at Alabama, he might have a good year and enhance his draft stock for 2027 as much as the rest of that group.
He has had 9 good games in his entire college career.

Bonafide Cards QB pick for sure.

I don’t think he would have kept the starting job at bama. It was a choice of transferring or going to the NFL.

Rap: Rams GM Les Snead told Ty Simpson's camp he was a 1st-round pick when making decision to enter the NFL Draft.

Cardinals, Jets teams to watch.

I had Ty Simpson as a second rounder in my first mock draft.

I had Ty Simpson going 32nd with a trade in my mock draft two days ago.

Based on the volume of calls I've received on Simpson today- from teams I didn't expect - think I was very off. Hello, @danorlovsky7 .

OTOH, spending a 2 and a 5 would be okay (with me).
Yeah, I guess that depends on whether or not you think that Simpson is potentially a QBOTF. Nothing he's done so far has me convinced, and we're in such desperate need of above average players, that wasting additional draft capital on Simpson, who very well could be a bust is not very attractive to me.

There’s some chatter that McVay was blindsided by the Simpson pick. He wanted a WR.
He looked pissed in the press conference.

People don't believe me when I say GMs regularly do this kind of thing. It does not matter what the coach wants, the GM will do what he thinks is best.

Because this happens so often…

I am not worried about this one.

Rams got cute, trying to be the Packers, drafting their QB of the future.

There are zero indicators that Ty Simpson is going to be a productive pro.

Their own coach was barely able to hide his disgust at the selection.

The clips of McVay, unable to hide his revolution at this pick are slaying me.

Yeah, I am sure it's going to work out great.

Team does a huge reach for a guy that the very highly regarded coach seems to think is trash...

Yeah, that should work out great.

This stuff is killing me.

He is so obviously angry at this pick. A waste of their window, a waste of a pick, a player he has zero interest in coaching.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy lol. Going to enjoy this moment because they always own us in the regular season.

I'm not surprised the Rams drafted Ty Simpson, I thought that was decent possibility because they are unlikely to have a pick as high as 13 in the near future and Stafford is old.

I am surprised that it was clearly done against McVay's wishes.

@Stout you laughed, but i predicted the first half. Now i have to see about the second half.
I continue to laugh. I didn't think the Lambs were dumb enough to do it but I'm glad they did. You can tell McVay is quite unhappy with the pick, and you can see why. No help to win a SB. That's bonus number one. We didn't get to foolishly trade up for him, which is a second bonus.

That would be hilarious.

I said earlier will McVay be coaching the Rams when this kid plays. Might have been insurance if he leaves with Stafford.
