When he is not drafted by anyone we will come back to this point and see who is eating crow.

Many of you still have the Brissett, and K1 crow still on your plate however. You might be too full to eat much more on QB mistakes.

I will bet you $1000 cash he will not go undrafted. Willing to put your money where your mouth is?

He’ll get drafted just not in the first round. We might do it but no other team will.

He is a meh QB.

Look at who is backpedaling now, from “no team will draft him” to “well he will get drafted but not in the first round”.

I’ve always said if we take this dude in the 3rd or later no biggie. The first round draft grade was always media hype and no one would take him in the first but us.

What you actually said was:

“Only if we take him.

Promise no one else is drafting this dud.”

No qualifier no “in the first round”

Then you doubled down and said, “When he is not drafted by anyone we will come back to this point and see who is eating crow.”

Again no conditions on this.

You throw out wild statements and then expect people to think your takes should be taken seriously?

If you think that’s a personal attack, I don’t know what to tell you. Just rightfully calling out crazy takes that thinks the consensus #2 QB in the draft will not get drafted. I even gave you the opportunity to make some money if you think your take was based in any semblance of reality.

You can easily check this very thread.

Nothing else to say about it.

Crazy odds right now for Simpson to be a Cardinal. Going to be wild!

Yea why not. If you told someone a 7th round Brock Purdy would get a 200mill contract and make super bowl, they would say never in life. It's not impossible for Ty Simpson to be starting qb.
It's just statistically highly unlikely. No, that undersells the odds. He would need to be a truly special player to come good. That "What If?" argument to me is akin to the "Well, Tom Brady was a 6th round pick so a 6th round pick should have a great shot at being a HoF QB." There are exceptions to the rule, but not many.

Kurt Warner was 27 when he took his first NFL snap and 28 when he made his first start. See, I can play this dumb game too!
Great! Now name ten more old QBs that came in and lit the league on fire. You can't, because you're talking about outliers. The odds are stacked against Simpson. It's simple fact.

There are people on this board, literally trashing him just because of his age. We even had one comment today that said he’s done. He’s reached his peak. Which is conjecture at best.
NOT just because of his age. It's just one of the negatives about him as a QB prospect.

I think Ty has a decent shot..it all boils down to chances. Teams usually give high picks more patience and opportunities..
thing is, it would work best if Ty could do an Aaron Rodgers and ride the pine a few seasons...getting spot duty, pre season starts, garbage time reps, et al...
But we are not really in the position to bring him along slowly like that. So the onus is largely on him to work his ass off and bring himself up to speed quickly.
Being a coaches kid could help with that...not running to daddy for coaching,...but because having spent his entire life around the game...and hearing all those closed door conversations..he should have a pretty strong idea how much effort he is going to have to put in to get himself ready.

the only real issue with his age is that we wont see much in the way of natural physical development from him from this point on. But he can still improve his mechanics and improve his understanding of defense.
and he is strong enough already...we dont need him more athletic..we need a guy who makes correct decisions Quickley followed by pinpoint passes...and he seems to fit that bill.

I hear you on that. Someone eventually even if its just one player breaks the mold tho. Like the no qb who had completion percentage 50 in college will succeed in the nfl Josh Allen broke that. Someone will break the games started in college mold maybe its Ty i dont know it will be someone tho.

No doubt.

People using outliers are scraping the bottom of the barrel to justify their beliefs.

Brady, Purdy, Warner, those dudes are once in a lifetime longshots that worked out not a model on how to build a sustainable team.

This GM and team don’t have a few years to do what the Packers did.

You know why, we aren’t the fricking Packers. We don’t have a decade of winning and Super Bowl goodwill built up. We can barely field a squad that is competitive. We can barely put butts in seats in our own stadium. The Cards need to win now not have a dude they drafted in the 1st round that won’t get time this season or sit for 3 years.

His age just says that he has been in the system for a long time and that his success this year (not even great) has more to do with him being older and better than 18-21 year olds who are in college.

It doesn’t translate to the NFL that he will be good. It just means that he beat up on a bunch of kids and never could beat out peer level talent.

What I said months ago.

We sitting him for 3 years?

Also what round?

Anything above round 3 and playing before year 3 is a no from me.

Not even close to enough game film to make a decision on this kid.

How you get to be a 23 year old QB in college and only start 15 games.

Dad holds you back after your 8th grade year so you enter high school as a 15-16 year old freshman. Standard procedure for underachieving male athletes especially in the Midwest, Texas, and South.

Get to college and you redshirt for a year because again you really aren’t that good.

Now you actually get to make the team but can’t beat anyone out for a starting spot at QB but you’re good enough probably to start next season.

Sophomore year but you’re really a Jr. in age and some other QB came in that has more talent than you and you still can’t start.

Jr year see Sophomore year.

Sr year you finally get to start because things click but you are still not the greatest player but fudge it lets declare for the draft.

On the plus side, you can drive yourself to school and don't have to take the bus ;)
