I see the gulf between KJ and Amare being due to the fact that KJ was the leader/best player, bar none, on a perennial 50 win playoff team even before Barkley, being the straw that stirred the drink for two WCF teams, whereas Amare was always a number 2 to Steve Nash, even while putting up that outrageously awesome WCF performance against the Spurs.

Nash fast forwarded his development but he was trending into a star after going from ROY in year one to averaging 20/9 in year two. I agree KJ had more responsibility.

Why? Booker has been to the Finals, but his career is still in progress. He'll likely be a Hall of Famer as well.

This, and kj was the main piece that pulled the suns outta the quagmire again. Say what you will about chambers signing and Dan majerle, but kj was the guy that raised the drug scandal Suns from the dead. Mate was part of a resurrection as well, but Nash was the straw that stirred that drink.

Also KJ’s injuries didn’t cause him to miss what seemed like an entire season. And when he came back he was still kj. Amare came back less than Amare. And we still had success in Amare’s absence. That wouldn’t have been the case had we similarly lost kj imo.
