After reading countless posts on here and mock drafts I have come to a couple of conclusions.

There are too many concerns with this years QB class that even though it truly is our #1 need it has to wait.

Although we desperately need a RT this position is fairly deep. Francis M. would be an okay pick at #3 but not the best value.

Bailey is now my #1 choice for us. A true pass rusher is our second biggest need.

Love is loved by many but RB is pretty far down on the needs list. If the Jets take Bailey then Love probably is the best value. We don't need him to be a work horse for at least 2 years.

Reese and Styles are both amazing athletes but neither have a history of Edge play. We do need an upgrade at LB but most argue the position value isn't there for the #3 pick.

Some boards have Downs as their #1 player. Hard to pass on that kind of talent and Safety will become a position of need soon.

If Bailey isn't available then trade back if possible. Do the Titans want to continue their history of having a superstar RB? How about the Giants who are still hurting over losing Barkley and Harbaugh loving the run game.

I think/hope it will be a fun and satisfying 1st round for Cards fans.

Bailey at #3.
Max I. OT at #34.
IOL or DT in rd 3.
I think that is what I want most.

I would love that 2-round mock.

Most mocks have Bailey to the Jets. And, no mention of the Miami PR. Is that an oversight? Brian Baldinger really like him. I have no idea, but I am impressed with Love.

How about giving us your reasons for this statement.
Part of the reason that the safety franchise number is among the lowest in the league is that safeties are extremely replaceable.

It’s awesome to have a great safety like Kyle Hamilton. The best safeties erase a quarter of the field or hide deficiencies on both the cornerback and linebacker corps.

But AVERAGE safety play is easy to find among the plethora of special teams players and veterans. People here were talking about how promising Kitan Crawford was when he played fewer than 150 defensive snaps.

There’s never a need for safeties because there are replacement level players aplenty to do that job for little more than the veteran minimum. It’s one of the reasons that Keim was probably drunk when he extended both Budda and Jalen Thompson.

We had two above-average safeties and it didn’t produce much but some truly execrable defenses.

Thanks and I agree with some of this. The
lack of competency with the Defense wasn't because of the safeties but the front 7 which highlights your point. So any consideration I had for Downs is gone.
Hell, I'm almost always a trenches guy anyway.

The mocks I'm seeing mostly have Reese going to the Jets. I do see some with Bailey so it seems like it will be one of those 2.
