I'm not sold on Willis. Yeah, he had a couple of nice games in GB, but any QB can have a couple of nice outings. I look more toward his body of work in Tennessee. He had a few nice games there too. Maybe he made progress in his time at GB but I'm not willing to pay him what the market is going to give him based on such a short run of good play.
Mmm you probably want to check your work on that

straight homerism right there.

Alec Pierce has 1A skills and slot speed...in the right offensive system with a QB not afraid to look deep he could certainly work his way up to being a favorite target...especially at 6'5
not likely to edge out Trey, when you pay an elite TE you expect him to get the targets, and any QB loves a reliable TE anyway... but MikeWilly and Marv aint been paid yet so there is no reason for the coaches to force the ball in their direction if another guy is getting open and proven he will catch what is thrown his way.
The argument isn't that paying Alec Pierce 25 mil per year isn't going to make your roster better, it's that with the current group of WRs, he is never going to perform to that level. Too many players canibalizing each other.

It won't take long, 61 pass attempt and a win in 3 starts. 3-3 career as a starter.
Kurt Warner said he watched all his throws - only 28 qualified to Warner as actual NFL throws. Giving this guy with no track record big money is insane.

But thats exactly what competition is about. Dog eat dog, the strong survive..all of that.
in the end, whoever cannot demand the targets gets traded or ignored when his contract expires.

maybe some folks are satisfied with the Redbirds having a roster of entrenched starters.
I am not.
every single dude on this roster needs to be fighting for his job every moment of every day. ...otherwise why the fudge are we even keeping score?

The Warner ones were with the Packers. We're talking rookie season when someone didn't see much out of him.

Not in a salary cap league and not at 25+ mil. This is unrealistic thinking. Your argument at play is if Michael Wilson continues to outproduce MHJ at which time the Cardinals may choose to not pay MHJ because Wilson has won the competition for the top WR role and the roster can't sustain three top receiving contracts.

When it comes to Willis, it's all going to come down to MLF's brother.
If he endorses him, they'll make a play. If he's ass, they'll pass. I doubt his brother gives him bad advice.

If only the choice were this simple. I don’t think high-level coaches ever think or talk like this outside of some very bad players.
