Sickening to hear this

How is ML supposed to change the tone of the locker room with the same guys who failed?

It smells like it has something to do with MB saving money on the staff to eat some of KM's contract or to pay the OC more money

Only the Cardinals can sink this low

Alas....
man, some of you guys just gotta take a negative swing no matter what happens.

Rallis, for some reason, was a well respected "up and comer" Bright mind before we hired him,...and maintained that status while here, even thugh the defense was flailing...
maybe...just maybe mind you... LaFleur knows Rallis...likes the dude,...and thinks he is a solid coach...
maybe he thinks Rallis is better than he has shown while hampered by running Gannons defense...and that the dude has a lot more to offer if given the chance by an offensive coach...to take the defense and run with it.... Maybe in 2026 we get to see the Rallis defense,...instead of seeing Rallis call plays for the Gannon defense??
when JG was hired,...we still had a defensive coordinator...after JG came in, the decision was made that he wanted to go in another direction so we released the DC.... it seems probable the same situation occurred this time..we liked Rallis, so we kept him on...but then let the new HC talk with him a bit, then decide rather or not to replace him.
woulda kinda screwed him if LaFlower didnt like him...but Vance rebounded pretty good in the same situation.

I mean, if you have a young coach that is considered league wide to be a pretty bright prospect and a very sharp football mind...why would you fire him just because you want to replace his boss??
should teams automatically fire the HC just because they want to replace the GM?
at least give the guy a chance for some continuity both in his career as well as family life.
...and he was working for a defensive coach...which pretty much means he was running another guys system...rare is the guy who abandons the system that got him a shot at being a HC just to give the next guy a chance.
Looks to me like they canned the two guys who were calling the shots...the defensive shot caller and the offensive shot caller...and the other guys got a chance to meet with the new coach and keep their jobs if it seemed they were on the same page.
I mean crap, I would hate it if I got fired every time my boss was replaced....I get fired enough on my own.

I'm calling ******** on Gus Bradley... totally lost believability with saying he could call plays. No way ML was gonna walk that back after his introduction.

Um, what? Who else would've called defensive plays if Bradley had accepted the DC job in AZ?

Cool… now explain why we’re also keeping the O-line coach.

How reliable is that guy? None of the traditionally big insiders have reported it.

Anyway, if true it is highly disappointing. The options were Karl Scott and Aubrey Pleasant, and they end up with Rallis?!? Really? I liked his defense the first year, but when he got some good players to work with, things went downhill. Maybe because he suddenly called a more traditional defense?

I guess I could get onboard with him if he started implementing another defense than that soft, passive crap from last season, and if they also hire some defensive advisor.

And retaining the offensive line-coach just makes me sick. Major, major disappointment.
Im okay with Nick getting his first chance to actually run his own defense instead of running JG's defense.
But I agree with you whole heartedly on Frye...our offensive line absolutely tanked after he took over.
unless The Petzing designed all new blocking schemes during that off season?? which makes no sense...we were flirting around with a top 10 line that just needed a talent infusion...and suddenly we were bottom five

I know, isn't it great? Anytime I feel a little down I log on read all the gloom and doom and I feel a lot better. Thanks everybody!
LOL. I have to admit, I do find it humorous reading the gloom and doom you speak of. I just hope this was Monti’s decision, because I don’t trust any decisions made by a Bidwill.

This is shades of the Cardinals winning 7 games in a row to start the 2021 season. Only to fall apart in November and December again. Then MB decides its a great idea to reward Keim, KK and K1 with new unnecessary extensions.

However it's only getting worse, the Cardinals won 2 in a row. Crapped the bed in September in all phases of the game and MB decides it's a good idea to keep the guys who are still under contract (aka getting paid).

If you are going to just run it back with most of the staff then why not keep JG for one more year.

Tear down in 2023 & his D actually outplayed the offense in both 2023 & 2024 with almost NO TALENT. 2025 decimated by injuries & he was forced to play way too many younger players when the injuries just never stopped coming. Wouldn’t be surprised if JG was in Matt LaFleur’s ear to tell his brother that it would be a huge mistake to hire someone with zero play calling experience over Rallis.
What are you on about? Here are the offensive and defensive ratings (yards; scoring):

2023: offense 19,24 defense 25,31
2024: offense 11,12 defense 21,15

Monti thinks JG was the real problem. Nick should do better without JG holding him back. Still hope for a more experienced coach in the room with him though.
It’s really pretty simple. If Gannon said Rallis could do anything he wanted except he could only use a 4 man rush I understand. If Gannon didn’t say that this is a stupid decision.

why do you like the Schaub hire? No coaching experience at all.

Because he was known to be a cerebral QB who spent years in the league. This isn't his first time on a NFL coaching staff just his first time as a QB coach, all coaches start somewhere and if they are good enough to they move up, look at the guy that is the new OC in Washington, he was a back-up QB with us under Kilff. I'd rather take a chance on someone like this than hire a retread.

I'm less down on keeping Rallis than others. It seems like the players like him, and some might have gone to bat for him. I totally get the concerns out there, but I could see it working if he gets a healthy roster. I'm not planting my flag here, just not as disappointed as some.

Not very happy with keeping Frye though.

HAHAHAHAHAHA I win! Ball knowers win! Rallis is a better candidate than every other other potential DC we interviewed. We were interviewing the Rams def pass game coordinator? The one part of their defense that is terrible?! I figured Mike was a smart guy and would keep Rallis. In one of his interviews he talked about how one of Rallis's defensive gameplans in 2023 broke 2025 MVP Matthew Stafford's brain. I believe the quote about Stafford was "He said he couldnt figure out what they're doing at all in coverage, he told us to just run the ball". In 2024 we held the Rams to 10 and 13 points.

I am officially excited for this regime.

As far as blaming him for draft disappointments. I've been watching football for a long time. It's almost never a case of coaches "failing to develop" when a 1st or 2nd round guy is bad. Teams switch coaches all the time and the disappointments tend to stay disappointments. Its just fans coping that maybe their roster is secretly more talented, if only the right coach could unlock [insert Day 1/2 draft bust]! It doesnt work like that. Look at the Bengals. Highly respected DC Lou Anarumo got fired because all the Bengals highly drafted players sucked and they were the worst in the league. Lou went to the Colts and immediately elevated them, while the Bengals defense stayed just as bad as it was. Maybe Darius Robinson or Max Melton will click in year 3, but Aubrey Pleasant vs. Nick Rallis is not the deciding factor in that.

The Frye move is a headscratcher.

Guys did you know neither Sean Murphy-Bunting nor Starling Thomas V played in those games? How can you expect us to compete without them?
